Sheen Falls Lodge

We had a fine stay in Sheen Falls Lodge and delighted with every detail. Our room was spacious and inviting with a relaxing area to sit and look at the river and falls outside our room and the bed was very comfortable for a good night's rest. Kenmare is a great central location for touring the many nearby sights. Our dinner and breakfast were delicious! The views around the lodge are quite stunning.

A fantastic stay from start to finish. Rooms are perfectly curated with lovely modern touches, comfortable bathrooms and stunning views over the falls. Snow had fallen and I had views of the snow capped mountains from the room. Breakfast was excellent, I had breakfast in the room and also in the restaurant. The various reception rooms in the hotel are lovely for lounging with open fires. Dinner in the stables and the falls restaurant was excellent. Overall a super five star country stay not to be missed

We had the pleasure of hosting friends and family for our multi-day destination wedding celebration at Sheen Falls Lodge in July of 2024. Admittedly, the beauty of the natural surroundings and intimacy of the space initially inspired us to consider the location for our wedding. We visited five other 5 star hotels across Ireland. However, once we experienced the impeccable service, most delectable cuisine, and warm atmosphere at Sheen Falls Lodge, it was the only place we could envision our most important gathering could take place. The hospitality the Irish are known for was on miraculous display throughout our three day event. The team of Scott, Clodagh, Alanna, Ronn, Brian, Tim, Dimitir, and countless others, provided patience and kindness to us and our guests in every interaction. Each of our guests, all of whom traveled from across the globe, marveled at the kindness and sincerity which they received. From the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful assistance throughout our stay and coordination on our special day, the level of care and consideration extended to us was unparalleled. It is clear that every member of the staff took great pride in helping us make this the most magical wedding weekend. Clodagh, the Lodge’s events and wedding planner, went above and beyond every moment of every day of the celebration. From the gorgeous bouquet of flowers in our room at our arrival, to arranging an on site replacement of a flat tire, and seamlessly coordinating with our wedding planner MartinaO, Clodagh was a gift. As hosts to 40 guests, from the moment our first guest arrived until we last left, we felt incredibly supported. Clodagh and the whole Sheen Falls team provided us the ultimate luxury - to feel like pampered and treasured guests at our own wedding. After three stays in the span of a year in preparation for our wedding, we have come to view Sheen Falls as our home away from home. In this case, this home has the most delectable cuisine, a spa that is a true refuge and the most comfortable rooms where we are soothed to sleep with the sounds of the falls. If you have the opportunity to go anywhere in Ireland, even for a night, this is where you should go. Enjoy a full Irish breakfast delivered to your room (with the best black pudding we tasted in our travels all over Ireland), a horseback ride around the property, a massage with Nikki at the spa, the best small business shopping, dinner at The Falls Restaurant and live music at the bar. Amazing food. We stayed three nights. We ate in the formal restaurant once. It was amazing. One of the best meals we have had. Perfection. We ate twice in The Stables restaurant and it was excellent. The area around the hotel is wonderful, especially at this time of year. Recommend it without a doubt.

We weren't sure we could make it to Sheen Falls because our itinerary pointed us in a different direction. But because research told me it is a beautiful wedding and honeymoon spot, (I was on a Wedaways dot com discovery trip sourcing destination wedding and honeymoon venues) and it had the added bonus of being a Relais & Chateaux property, we decided to go out of our way and make the drive down. What a fantastic decision it was! Another gorgeous Ireland drive to arrive, and when we did we were in awe of the lush landscape. The doorman was quick to assist and we were swept into the huge lobby and welcomed beautifully. The lobby has green carpet, as though the outside had followed us indoors. Most people know the nickname for Ireland is The Emerald Isle for exactly this reason: 40 shades of green year round. We had an exceptional meal in the pub/bar. The service was five star. The presentation another five stars. A Relais & Chateaux property requirement is that the food must be outstanding and this absolutely hit the mark. I had branzino, my husband had chicken. Images herein. We enjoyed a property tour of the rooms, spa and ballroom spaces and gym and grounds. Everything we saw was extremely well kept. Lots of interesting decor which are conversation pieces due to color, shape, or unique item. Even the ladies room here in the lobby is beautiful. Reception is right in the lobby and the staff are so helpful. We met guests from Boston who were on their 15th trip to Sheen Falls. Every time they bring along another couple to experience what they love about the property. The common areas are beautiful, well appointed, and welcoming. This is a wonderful property to visit and stay at least 3 nights.

Stayed for 2 nights at the weekend Our lovely room overlooked the estuary. Supper club on Friday night was brilliant Met some lovely people , had great food & lovely wine. This is a great idea. The massages were excellent Service was excellent Couldn’t fault a thing
