I have stayed at several Kimpton properties around the country and they have become one of our favorite brands for personal travel. That is why I didnt hesitate to pay almost double for this property compared to similiar properties on the island. Unfortunately when we arrived it was very clear this property is no where near the standard of other Kimpton properties I have stayed. The good: great location, across from the Hemingway House, next door to the Lighthouse. Bungalow style cabana's and a very cozy property that is well landscaped.
The dissapointing: The rooms are incredibly small with nowhere to even sit a single suitcase, much less two. We had to stack ours in the flloor on top of each other. The bathrooms are also very small with only a single pedestal sink to put your things. No more than 4" on either side of the sink for toiletries. There was also no water, coffee maker, lotion or other basic amenities in the room. The property seemed tired and unkept. The floors were uneven, cracked plaster in the bathroom, as well as some concerning dinge by the toilet, privacy film peeling off the bathroom window, pool was missing huge chunks of plaster, etc. Just things I would have never expected from Kimpton or a $600 night hotel room.
