Resolution Resort

I want to express my appreciation for the polite and welcoming attitude of every staff member we encountered during our stay, despite the challenging circumstances. However, it's crucial to share our experience to prevent others from facing similar disappoin**ent. The photos displayed online present a misleading image; the entire 'resort' appears dilapidated and almost abandoned, far from the advertised representation. The premises were unkempt, rundown, and gave the impression of being unfinished or under construction. Surrounding amenities, such as shops, bars, or accessible beaches, were non-existent, and the 'free shuttle' promoted turned out to be a small, old boat hardly larger than a kayak. Additionally, the absence of a functional swimming pool, due to ongoing construction mentioned in an email received long before our check-in, was disappointing. Continuous disturbances like drilling and electrical noise persisted throughout the day. Upon arrival, we promptly informed the reception of our decision not to stay, highlighting the vast discrepancy between their advertised offerings and the reality we encountered. They were empathetic, refunding us 50% of the cost and providing a complimentary night in an upgraded room, given the island's peak season and limited alternative accommodations. Regrettably, our experience wasn't unique, witnessing other couples arriving with identical grievances and promptly leaving after just one night. It's disheartening to see a lack of dedication, inves**ent, and attention to detail in a place marketed online as a luxurious resort. I must emphasize the exceptional politeness and helpfulness of all staff members, from the owner to the waiters and cleaners. However, due to our substantial financial loss and feeling misled, I find it necessary to share this review.

Very nice property, small and out of the way, beautiful scenery.

Great place, pets friendly, this place has a charm, professional and welcoming stuff, good food. Highly recommend this hotel. Family holiday location, or romantic getaway. You will enjoy this place, far from tourist noisy routine. One of my favourite places in Thailand.

The hotel photos and description do not reflect the current poor state of this hotel. It is a hotel past its best and is showing many signs of deterioration. While the staff seem willing, they are unable to address the mounting problems and appear resigned to the hotel’s fate. Six dilapidated sun beds and one parasol is clearly inadequate for a hotel of this size. Having asked the staff for more, I was advised there were no more beds and the hotel had only one sun parasol (There is no other shade around the pool). In general the hotel grounds appear uncared for, the hotel rooms are tired, the bathrooms grubby, and the air conditioning is next to useless - it makes for an uncomfortable night. The hotel felt less than half full and, perhaps to offset the lack of income, the hotel appears to have offered almost exclusive use of the pool to a diving school. The divers do try to accommodate your wish to swim, but it doesn’t work as their equipment and training takes up most of the pool from 10am to 5pm and your confined to a small area. We had enough after our 2nd day and checked out 3 days early. There are far better choices for a hotel in Koh Chang, on an equal or smaller budget.

Beautiful & serene landscape. Simple & practical room. Friendly & super helpful staff. Feel more likes a peaceful stay in your holiday home than a bustling, full of activities hotel. A bit far in the southern most of the island but definitely worth the effort.

I paid $115 a night for a room not worth $30. The reception area is just off the road. There’s a steep 75 foot irregular stairs down to the rooms with one 3 foot section of railing. As I arrived after dark and the property was dimly lit I reached for that only piece of rail and it crumbled in my hands leaving four long rusty nails pointing up. While my room was listed as ‘Sea View’ the only thing I could see from my room was the pool and bar. The free breakfast was atrocious. One night was too much and I stayed at the property right next door. I went from the worst to the best within 24 hours

Vrai petit coin de paradis, au milieu de la jungle dont on entend les bruits. Parfait pour qui recherche le calme et le confort. Staff adorable et aux petits soins, serviable et à l’écoute. Ils se plient en 4 pour les clients (appel service taxi, navette, réservation snorkeling). Chambres récemment refaites et décorées avec goût. Équipements complets. Aucun problème de wifi lors de notre séjour. La piscine est charmante, eau très douce (pas de chlore) et température parfaite. Jardin magnifique. Service de navette en bateau à heures fixes en fonction des marées pour aller à Bang Bao (le port) et Klang Kloi (la plage). Petit déjeuner au top (choix entre plusieurs formules). Certes, les prix du restaurant sont plus élevés que ceux d’un street food (normal!!) mais restent tout à fait raisonnables. Le restaurant ferme tôt, mais comme tous ceux de Bang Bao (2 ouverts max après 20:00). Facilement accessible en scooter ou en taxi (qui prennent un peu plus certes mais prix toujours raisonnable si l’on met les choses en perspective). La route d’accès est charmante bien qu’elle soit escarpée (comme toutes les routes de l’île!!), également praticable à pied le jour.
