Here’s everything you need to know: We were a little nervous by the reviews we had seen being that we are usually harsher reviewers than most. But to our surprise we really enjoyed our time here :) The beach is incredible, not perfectly white fine sand but a beautiful color nonetheless and incredible shallow turquoise water with coral in close reach but far enough to enjoy the calm, warm water especially ideal with children. As like most beaches in the region, the tide can have a big impact on your experience and requires a little bit of planning. No two low tides are the same, some can be quite low where you basically can go for a beautiful walk on the rocks, others can still make for a great swim. The time changes per day but staff are all well informed through an app and can advise you daily so you can plan around it. Remember all the beaches on the other side have the same issue but even more so and at lease the water is always calm here! The beach is soooo isolated tucked away from everything whereas the other side of the island is property by property. Only once for a short window of time on the weekend we saw a few long tail boats pull up nearby with organized day tours. The bungalows are beautifully decorated just as seen in the photos. Housekeeping does a great job keeping them clean, and the hot water and air conditioning work perfectly. The only downside is that the rooms are lined up on a straight path moving inland from the beach and main property in chronological order. So if you are in the end 15-30, it can be a bit of a walk back and forth. Luckily, we were moved from room 23 to room 5 with our small child which was a HUGE help. Our only other complaint is that the mattress was to firm for our taste, but worth the sacrifice. The swimming pool is clean and a perfect place to be when the tide gets too low. Though it is uncovered so sunscreen is needed during the harsher hours of the day. The restaurant makes some truly delicious food. The menu does not change but is quite extensive between western, eastern, and Thai dishes. Prices are higher than other parts but are still very reasonable. The bartenders make some great drinks and smoothies, some of the best fresh coconuts we’ve ever had too! Dinner seating daily on the beach is such a treat! They had two play areas for kids and activities available which our daughter absolutely loved. Most importantly to us: the people were wonderful and kind even if not at the higher standards we are used to. This was our biggest fear when booking but it came clear to us early on that the employees are overworked and understaffed. A sad truth about a lot of resorts in the area and I can understand that they can appear grumpy at times or missing some attention to detail, but they respond to smiles with smiles and to kindness with kindness. We were beyond happy with the service and hope that management will change their ways to make for a better environment for their employees which will ulti
The hotel is very beautiful and the location is very good. It is very close to the beach. The beach is not as fierce as other islands. The hotel staff is very attentive. The luggage is good for the things to help fix the boat. The memory is amazing. You enter them. After the hotel's regional registration, almost all the service staff remembered where you lived. Breakfast buffet has fruit yoghurt and various breads. Other Thai-style meals have chefs who do omlet. The hotel generally does not provide toothbrushes. You need to bring your own toiletries. Also, there is no need to bring a beach blanket because the hotel is famous, so ask the crew and the ground pick-up staff. They will change the boat to help you to park. Don’t worry.
The hotel is located in a stunning location. The views are simply amazing. It is noticeable that the hotel has remnants of its former luxury, that it is ancient and has not been in operation for a long time. But the ratio of the price ($50 per night) with the service and the opening views of the island and the sea - only covers its shortcomings in the form of tired furniture. The choice of food is not very large, but we are not a picky customer. We were satisfied with everything, including breakfast included in the price and separate dishes that we ordered for lunch and dinner.
The staff is very friendly and fulfilled every request.
The downside is that there is no swimming beach, but after walking 1 kilometer along the beach, we realized that there are no ideal beaches on this side. And all the five hotels that were along the road are suffering just as much as we are, only the price is higher there.
Another minus is that the room we chose near the pool is high up and it’s hard to climb up the steps into it, but this effort is rewarded with a mesmerizing view from the room or the pool.
We spent most of the time at the pool, because... Swimming on the beach is not very comfortable. But I think that we are lucky, because... we were alone there. Completely alone, there were only 5 people in the hotel, together with us, and we saw other people a couple of times. It was gorgeous, chilling in the pool with the coolest views of other islands and watching the birds fly from tree to tree.

The place is just paradise, there is a little Bohemian spirit, the bungalows compared to the other resorts are quite spacious and their bamboo recovery gives the place a very appreciable natural and bohemian air. This is reinforced by a very nice restaurant, with delicious and varied dishes, which denotes a little Chinese chain of some other neighborhoods. The staff is adorable and you are in small care and managers are giving out incredibly positive and peaceful energy. The beach view is beautiful, with its Turkish water, this beautiful jungle wall-back, the beautiful islands that are shaped the seafront in front. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and is very comfortable. The hotel is a very good place to stay in the city, and it is a good place to stay in the city. We got the light spirit of peace found but the heart is a little heavy to leave behind us this place and these incredible people. We went to Tarutao's natural park and thought to find a natural and preserved environment, as described in the travel guides, if that's what we're looking for you, The islands of Trang offer a much more propice framework for this.
Just wonderful. Outstandingly beautiful location. We loved: The welcome from our longtail and help from the staff to take our luggage to shore. Free kayaks and snorkel gear...and water! Spacious bathrooms Interesting wildlife including tucans...hermit crabs...lizards Dive man!!! Took our 11 year old for first dive Fabulous chef...utterly wonderful food. First class Great waiters Comfy beds Child friendly and felt safe
Only a short walk from Mookies to Farang Beach, a truly tropical paradise....The bungalows at Mookies were excellent, clean and very comfortable beds. The fridge is a very nice touch. The food was quick and fast and very tasty. Of course you have other restaurants nearby if you can possibly tire of Wan and her crews offering. Nick her husband was always ready to give some advice and have a good story to share. All in all, good prices for both bungalows and food and drink.
We had an amazing stay at Mook Montra in Ko Muk. Kritt messaged us on WhatsApp the day we were arriving to see if we needed any help with anything and they helped us organising a longtail from the jetty on the mainland to the island for 600THB. When we arrived on the island we were greeted by the super friendly staff member (I think his name was Go) who drove us to the hotel. He explained where everything was whilst driving us around which was super helpful and he was an absolute champion during our whole stay, always willing to help us if we had any questions. The room itself, we booked the Seaview Cottage, was really nice. Quite spacious, clean and a very comfy bed with aircon. There was a little balcony with a nice bench and a table at the front which was perfect to have your breakfast in the morning or a drink in the afternoon. The property is beautiful with a lot of greenery and all the different cottages. We'd highly recommend Mook Mantra if you're budget is a bit more limited as you'd still get the luxurious vibe for this price. One thing that would've been nice to have in the room is a water kettle to make some tea or coffee in the morning.

This is a tough one to review. On the one hand, you have the prime location on one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand if not in the world. On the other hand, the resort itself is very average for the price. To quote the resort’s website, ”The Reef Resort in Koh Kradan Thailand is a corner of paradise and with 18 luxury beachfront and sea view rooms will allow you to enjoy the crystal emerald Andaman Sea and the lush tropical gardens.” I fully agree on the beauty of the paradise island, but the above seems a bit of an overstatement in terms of the actual accommodation. The rooms are clean but very simple. Basically just a bed (decent one), a fridge, AC and an outdoor bathroom. The decor is very minimalistic but that’s what we expected. The rooms do not really have much a view to speak of. They are tightly placed in a U-shaped building, giving you a distant feeling of staying in a tropical motel. To have any privacy, you need to keep the curtains closed all the time. The sea view is limited and indirect, blocked by the trees and the bar hut. What you mainly look at is a sunburnt yellow/brown lawn (at the least during the hot season) and the pool. The difference to some of the neighboring resorts with their well kept gardens is striking. It seems that the Reef has decided not to upkeep the garden, maybe to save resources. During our stay we did not see a gardener around. If this is their choice, I would rather suggest them to replace the lawn with sand as a continuation of the beach. I would also pay more attention to the overall appearance of the property. Eg. the building where they have table tennis and a small kiosk was really messy and unorganized. The breakfast was simple but adequate with white toast, sausage, bacon, pancakes, a couple of warm options plus some fruit (pineapple and watermelon). Eggs were prepared by order. I would suggest them to improve the way the breakfast is presented - it was not very very attractive with many food items served on foil. What was really annoying is that there were lots of flies all around during the breakfast hours. I know this is something normal in a tropical environment but at least they could try to manage the situation, eg by very regularly raking the sand on which the tables are placed. I never saw them raking the sand although this could help to mitigate the root problem by removing the eggs etc. We had most of our meals at their restaurant. The Thai food was decent but not spectacular. The prices were reasonable. Some of the waiters could practice showing a happier face with their customers. The beach is spectacular with a coral reef just in front. The resort has canoes, SUP boards and snorkeling equipment for their guests free of charge. The swing in the beach is also great. I also recommend waking up at 6am to see the sunrise, it’s really beautiful. It can get a bit busy later in the morning and around noon when day trippers arrive (this mainly affects the neighboring Seven Sea
