Nikos 2 Studios & Apartments

On arrival late at night I was greeted by the owner who took me to my room. Although this is a 2 star hotel, the service at this hotel is 5 star. The rooms and pool area are exceptionally clean and the pool area is very big. No hassle getting a sun bed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. You feel like part of the family. The main road at the front of the hotel can be loud at times but this cannot be helped. I would highly recommend staying here for the price as it’s 5 mins walk to the beach and 15 min walk into Kardamena.

Stayed for 7 nights really nice appartments in a really quiet place George and his brother Michael and their Mother are really nice people . All the place is kept really clean lovely swimming pool nice snack bar for food and drinks the resort and beach is a good 20 minutes walk thhat is the only reason we will not return because my wife has walking difficulties

We booked a package deal through jet2 last minute and we stumbled across this family run hotel. We saw how amazing the reviews were and thought why not! The transfer from the airport to hotel was very quick, your in the area within 15 minutes. When we arrived, we arrived late and Michael met us from the coach and took us to our room which was clean and had all that we needed. We then joined Michael at the pool bar for a few drinks. Michael stayed open until approximately 2am. Then it was time for bed. The pool area is lovely and clean, pool was abit cold at first but very refreshing. The snack bar had everything you could want and the food and drink was very reasonably priced. They stop serving food at 4:30pm every day. It was not hard to get a subbed, ever! And George played good music by the pool everyday which we enjoyed. The location of the hotel was good for us. I was worried we were far from the town however it was a short walk, shorter than I first imagined. We paid €8 daily for the air con, the shower worked well, bathroom on the small side but not an issue. If you want a safety deposit box apparently this is not in the room, it’s outside and George will usually take you there when you need something. We didn’t end up using one and our things were fine. We had no issues throughout the visit. You can hear through the walls but people tend to be quiet and don’t disturb others which was good. We would definitely recommend and go back. Kos is absolutely stunning and under rated. Not the party place it used to be.

We really enjoyed our stay. George and Michael are very excellent hosts and very friendly. The apartment was comfortable and clean and towels were changed regularly. The pool is lovely and well maintained. Never had a problem getting a sunbed. We hope to visit again.

We booked the Nikos on the strength of the reviews on here - we like smaller complexes and have stayed in many over the years and kept in touch with owners etc. so we were looking forward to our holiday here. Pros: Lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds at any time of day. Lots of inflatables left by previous guests for use Anna, the cleaner, is fantastic. She’s probably the best we’ve encountered on our travels. She’s a gem! There were almost no very small children, which wouldn’t have been an issue but it turned out to be lovely We had a lovely warm welcome from Michael on arrival, even though it was nearing 11pm and he was happy for us to have a couple of drinks etc. The apartments are just outside the main stretch in Kardamena but the need to walk on the road is minimal if you take the first left toward Anemos restaurant. Cons: We had two, one bed apartments (16 & 22) and the size difference between them was quite stark. 16 was incredibly small inside compared to 22 which was far more spacious. We would have struggled for space as a family of 4 in #16 (which luckily only had 3 people in). That being said, 22 only had aircon in the living room so the bedroom was incredibly hot, even with the addition of a fan. It’s worth noting that you are charged for aircon per unit (as in AC unit) so if you’re fortunate to have two units in your apartment then you’ll be charged €220 for the week. It’s decent though so worth the cost in July/August but just to be aware. We mostly eat out but with teens who have strange eating habits, we like to have some basic cooking facilities - these were very basic, but you could get by at a push. We had to buy wine glasses as there were none but we’ve left them in #22 to hopefully help out the new occupants! It could also do with a couple of cereal bowls and plates. Contrary to many posters on here, our experiences with George were not good and unfortunately he actively made our stay uncomfortable. On our first night we asked (politely) and were given (with no issue) more pillows by Michael. For whatever reason, this riled George enormously who pounced on us the following morning to berate us about the pillows (that we’d be given with no issue!), saying that if he wanted to take them back, he would, and that he was top in the pecking order and Michael was second. My mum also had issues with her aircon the first night (one of her windows wasn’t fully shut - fair enough, an easy mistake to make) but George was incredibly scathing when she asked how he managed to get it working - given the berating we’d had over the pillows, it wasn’t meant jokingly. We ate breakfast there the first morning (which was good value and nice) and he was repeatedly going on about it and kept going back and forth mentioning it. We felt incredibly unwelcome and intimidated. He mentioned that people online say ‘George is the nice one’ but by his own admission, ‘I can be very not nice’. Not the warm welcome we were hoping for. Absolutely great little apartments, everything you need spotless from rooms to pool area, great little bar area which sells lots of different drinks and the food was great too, short walk to beach and shops, there is 2 ways you can get to beach and shops/bars, we came home the shortcut way at night which is dark but felt totally safe, owners are.lovely always smiling and always busy doing something, we arrived late at night and they had water in fridge for us quicest checkin ever which was great as we just got straight to bed really nice pool to sunbathe at, would definitely recommend and will return
