This classy-hip hotel is on everyone's list, and I had a ok experience here. The decoration of the hotel is tasteful, but not always thoughtful (for example, the reading light in the living room is not over anywhere you'd sit; the bedroom light switch is in the hallway, not anywhere you can reach from the bed; the sink has a faucet that is in your way when you try to wash your face). The bed is comfortable. The main issue for me is that the hotel (both room and common area) is very dark (likely every hotel in old town is the same, as buildings are an arm's length from each other), and there is no comfortable outdoor (or just well-lit) space where you can hang out. Yes, there is a rooftop, but that's a restaurant: you can't just hang out there without purchasing (which you cannot sign to the room). The main reason for the three (rather than 4/5) star is the day-time receptionist. She basically acted like she really wished she wouldn't be bothered by guests. Every time I passed by the reception, she was either not there or on her cell phone. The one time I asked her a question about buses to Perast, she was most impatient and pretty much rolled her eyes. When I left the hotel she made no pretense she was going to help with luggage or even open the door: she just sat with her bottom glued to her seat. She needs to get a non-customer-facing job. She had the worst attitude of anyone I had encountered in my six days in Montenegro.
