Located in the heart of the city, this is a large hotel with spacious rooms. The bed was comfortable,the attached washroom was clean and an electric kettle was provided. We were impressed with the quality of food served in the restaurant where alcohol is also available. Parking facilities are available for guests - a definite plus if you are driving down. The staff are polite and helpful. Definitely recommended

This hotel is an old favourite of mine, and really like it. Lovely big rooms, some with balconies, also restaurant, and bar.Everything is close at hand, which is great. A real feel good place, which has been there for a long time,which gives it a lot of character, and has been kept up to high standards everywhere including rooms.

We booked two rooms from the 3rd to the 5th of February. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. The staff were cordial enough and the food was also quite good. What took away from the overall good experience were the bathrooms with their dirty washbasin slabs, chipped old tiles and an overall shabby look. I think they renovated the rooms but did not repair the bathrooms. Would strongly suggest to the ***agement to do this on a priority.

The plus point of this hotel is that it’s right in the city next to all the must see attractions of Kozhikode. Malabar palace used to be one of the top hotels in the 90’s and it seems they are still existing because of that goodwill. The hotel has a rundown feel and surely needs a makeover. The clout of this hotel is dipping. Lack of security measures, inexperienced and laidback attitude of the staff ***ning the reception, poor day to day ***agement are all adding up to the negatives. But I must complement the security guards and some of the slightly older staff members who are still keeping the tradition of exemplary service going on. And for heaven’s sake, try to get the tidying up done before or after business hours, the last thing we need is a welcome shower of dust while checking in. Pic attached. My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The room we stayed in, had been renovated and was neat and clean- so was the bathroom. We didn't opt for the buffet breakfast but did have a dosa each on the day we checked out- was ok and reasonably priced. The only negatives I found was a smell of cigarette smoke in our room - the room should have been aired properly while cleaning. Also I feel the hotel should keep bottles of mineral water rather that their old bottles of drinking water. The location is perfect for those visiting the city. I would deduct one star for the cons mentioned but it was overall a pleasant experience.
