Momijiya Bekkan Kawa No Iori

Just a 50-minute drive from Kyoto Station. Takao is called Kyoto's inner parlor. This peaceful, old ryokan (Japanese-style hotel) is located across the suspension bridge. This ryokan offers plans without dinner, but asks guests to be aware that because of its remote location deep in the mountains, there are no restaurants in the surrounding area. The ryokan can later accept separate requests for meals; however initially booking the plan including breakfast and dinner is recommended as it is a better value. There is a Japanese/Western-style guestroom with an open-air bath where guests can enjoy the sweeping view of autumn leaves all to themselves and a wooden deck where guests can relax during warm seasons. There is also a Japanese-style room with 2 adjoining rooms which is the closest guestroom to the river in the entire hotel. This room has an open-air bath from which guests can look out on the Kiyotaki River, and from early June to early July, guests can enjoy seeing Japanese fireflies from their rooms and the open-air baths. After the hotel lights go out, enjoy watching the fireflies wondrously flying about Breakfast will be served in the restaurant or banquet halls. Guests must contact the lodge before 18:00 on their day of arrival. Guests who do not make contact prior to 19:00 will not receive an evening meal.
