We spent a few Däy’s in La Rochelle. This Ibis is in a great location. The facade is pretty- maybe it was an old church(?). They say you must reserve parking, and they didnt have a space for us. A girl at the mercure front desk in angers grew up in La Rochelle, and she said there’s lots of parking and drew us 2 maps. The hotel helped us find close by public parking. When we went to room 209, the hallway stank of toxic artificial room freshener. I could tell there was mildew everywhere, but our room was fine. We opened the window, too. We had to book a 4 person room, so there was a spacious bathroom with a hairdryer plug next to the mirror (bonus). The breakfast was better than average for ibis. Laid out beautifully. The staff was very nice and helpful, even humoring my primitive French. They could use a small ramp for the luggage out front. Note for parking: we paid by card at a machine on the -3floor where the car was: almost $40 for two nights. Then when we left, the atm just lifted up without asking us for the ticket, so… maybe one doesn’t really have to pay? There was a free day? Who knows.
