This place is an excellent stay in rural Lower Austria (not too far from A1 motorway) and approx 60 km from Vienna. Everything is done nearly to perfection. Rooms prices are slightly up-market considering that Brand-Laaben is a very small town. For casual tourists probably overpriced. An additional €13 pp is added for breakfast. Our room was nearly impeccable, but not quite because it had no air conditioning. The restaurant was excellent, with freshly prepared local produce. We had the '3-course dinner of the day' and a bottle of good wine, very tasteful though not quite haute cuisine. The restaurant bill was a shock: unpleasantly overpriced and this is the only reason why I am not rating this place as 'excellent'. The bill even included a separate charge for setting the table ('Tischkultur'). I'd love to come back, but I'll think twice before I do...

Phantastisches Essen. Bodenständig und regional aber alles andere als altmodisch. Immer wieder moderne Einflüsse in der Küche, die gut ergänzen. Auch das Serviceteam ist top. Einfach ein gepflegter Landgasthof mit dem gewissen Etwas, gerne wieder!

Très ben accueil avec du personnel habillés en magnifiques tenues traditionnelles. Hôtel : Une petite chambre très simple mais qui fait l'affaire avec deux lits et une table. Petite salle de bain. Wifi et parking pour les voitures. Restaurant : Très bons plats mais cher et peut garnis. Attention tout est payant (pains, couverts, sauces...)
