Had a most scrumptious dinner on Sunday 3 March with a fine bottle of Tahon de Tobelos, one of the lesser known local riojas. The pulpo en tempura and the slightly spicy corvina en leche are lovely. The service is exemplary and charming.. we cannot recommend this restaurant too highly!!

My husband and I spent three wonderful nights at this magical hotel. It’s the perfect location, at the center of the town. Our room was very comfy and beautifully decorated. Really good water pressure in the shower was a plus! We dined in both of the restaurants and the staff was friendly and almost everyone spoke English. We especially loved drinking wine in the hotel’s wine cave each night before dinner. The front desk helped us with cabs, a wine tour guide who was wonderful, and suggestions for activities. We took a lovely hike through vineyards with snow capped mountains in the distance. The trail is walking distance from the hotel. It was quiet and peaceful. When we left, the owner hugged us good-bye. We were sorry to go! This hotel is the perfect home base for a trip to Rioja.

One suggestion: The private parking information was not available in advance. It would be helpful if the hotel could send a pin, or suggest a way to get bags up to the hotel.

Stayed 1 night after visiting Rioja area. Situated in a small town area. This is an old house converted into hotel. Only a few rooms on 2 levels. Room not very spacious and a little dark for me. There is a scenic spot near the hotel that overlooks the surrounding area and very nice to watch the sunset.

Laguardia is a great town and this hotel is at its centre. The room was comfortable even though we were a bit surprised to find the window opened onto a internal courtyard rather than the exterior. It didn’t matter. The staff in the restaurant were terrific for both dinner and breakfast. Recommended!

I booked a May visit at this property in January through *******. I received a confirmation. Shortly before arrival, ******* informed me that the property was overbooked and I would have to find alternative accommodations. Not happy with *******.

Laguardia is an amazing little fairybook town but authentic, and a wonderful place to stay when visiting Rioja. This little hotel was really charming! We did have an interior facing room (only one we could get) which at first seemed claustrophobic, but was actually quite cozy and well-appointed. Everything is VERY clean, and beautifully decorated. Bed was comfy. So glad we stayed here, rather than at the stylized hotels in the region. We did eat dinner in the restaurant. It's elegant, food is good, not amazing. Breakfast was lovely, though. We ate at a little restaurant in the town, which I would highly recommend doing, as you will be among the locals. The hotel is right on a square, where locals and their children gather. It was truly an authentic experience. The town has a few meat markets, and restaurants, and feels so lively in the evenings despite it's small size. Very fun place, and highly recommend the hotel. I would stay there again and would recommend to friends exploring the beautiful Rioja area.

Lovely, friendly hotel in the stunning walled town of Laguardia. Ideal for exploring La Rioja. Friendly service, comfortable and luxurious rooms and outstanding restaurant with engaging waiters. Get a table outside in the square if you can. Highly recommended for your stay in the region.
