We’ve been staying for over 20 years, when it was known as The Laguna Riviera. The charm, coziness and laid back vibe kept us coming back - but that’s all gone. We booked an Oceanfront Junior Suite for our 34th wedding anniversary, and the confirmation e-mail depicted a bright white, renovated room with hanging wicker chairs, which is what we were expecting. Upon arrival, we opened the door to find scratched and peeling floors, a stained shabby couch, construction debris/dirt behind the bathroom sink and faucet, busted drywall around the showerhead and a taped-up air conditioner. We decided to leave early, due to the poor condition of the room. We spoke to the on-site manager, who told us ours was o r of only 2 rooms that had not been renovated. For our anniversary? And for $300/night? He kindly refunded us a portion of our stay. We also sent a review via the company website, and received a reply from corporate, asking us to call him, which we did. No response.
