We wanted a comfortable place to stay for our last night in Sabah, after roughing it somewhat in the rainforest. What did we like about the property? In a nutshell, the people and the food! Tisha and Simon (and their helpers) are as friendly and hospitable as any hosts we have ever stayed with, and their home-cooked meals are off the charts. Our welcome was delightful, with warm, family greetings and delicious home-made flowery drinks under an awning. We were made to feel like a cross between VIPs and old friends. We played with the gorgeous household cats and relaxed in the quirky swimming pool until dinner. Tisha had been in touch in advance about food, and she had been incredibly solicitous about what we might want, but what she produced was remarkable. There’s not space here to go into detail, but the main dish was an extraordinary mixture of Malaysian with one surprising Italian ingredient, with a family story to accompany and explain it, made with the freshest, most aromatic ingredients from Simon’s own smallholding, complex without being fussy, and personalised to our individual tastes (eg level of spice). It was truly gourmet comfort food of the highest order; in fact as good as I’ve ever eaten. Starters and dessert were similarly fresh and home-made, and breakfast the next day - porridge oats with a range of home-made and local additions, served like a work of art - was impeccable. Our room (two big double beds with an en-suite shower room) was clean, comfortable and nicely air-conditioned and we slept well, but the reason to stay here is Tisha and Simon’s exceptional hospitality. I cannot commend it highly enough.

Everything, the love for food and hospitality of the owners is incredible. Customers feel pampered from the moment they step in it to when they leave.. They have the best restaurant in town and I would say the most authentic Malay cuisine, everything made in house, even the jogurt for breakfast. After days of travelling the smell of clean in the room was the most comforting feeling.

What a delightful surprise. After driving through suburban streets we pulled up at a well kept lovely gated home and were warmly welcomed with a fabulous Blue Pea drink. The house of the hosts is lovely. Extremely clean, well maintained and comfortable. There was a plunge pool, air conditioning in the bedroom and tea and coffee facilities. Our large room had two large double beds, private bathroom and door to the backyard and pool area. The hosts left pools towels out and brought a jug of lemon water and fresh juices out to us whilst we frolicked in the pool. The food and presentation of the meals were outstanding. Linda the house carer uses the freshest ingredient, the majority found in the garden. Breakfast and dinner were included in the package. The restaurant also serves local people. It was a treat to experience the service and food here. I really gem, we would highly recommend this accommodation and we’re sorry we only had one night.

Can't speak highly enough about our stay at Bike and Tours. Such a fantastic warm welcome from Tisha, and linda who brought us our delicious welcome drink. The property is well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast, and also a fantastic night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed!! Tisha and Simon are the perfect hosts and they have an amazing team working with them. Stay there, you won't be disappointed!!!

We had a wonderful stay here for 3 nights, after a few days in the Danum Valley. Tisha and Simon and their team are so welcoming and kind, and everything about their place is fabulous. The attention to detail is amazing, they have thought of everything. The food is a real highlight - delicious and so beautifully presented! For one of the days we went on a snorkelling trip with Dominic which was great, highly recommended, and then spent another day just pottering round, sorting laundry etc. We felt incredibly well taken care of during our stay and really enjoyed it.

We were staying in this lovely B&B for only one night, after our Kinabatangan river adventure and before going to Danum Valey. The words cannot describe their hospitality, that's why I am posting some photos. The whole house is arranged like you are at home. And we have really felt like we are at home. There is a big terrace with a sunset view, coffe and tea table, pool, clothes airer, a lot of trees, flowers, etc. around the house. The rooms are spacious and with all amenitis you could need. The bed is very comfortable and there is so cosy and beautiful coloured bedding. You are realy not just a guest there, you are a part of their family. What can I say about the food? It is soo tasty. And the presentation is better than in 5* hotel. Every detail is made with love, and that's why every meal is so perfect and taste so good. I would strongly recomend you to book a dinner - it is a perfection. Thank you Itisha, Simon & Co - we had such a lovely time staying with you

We were smothered with a warm welcome and incredible hospitality. Simon and Tisha are a really special couple that helped us have an incredible experience in their home and in the Jungle of Tabin Wildlife reserve. Please go here even just for the food! I don’t have enough words to praise Tisha and Simon for their great hospitality. The place itself is really beautiful and it only has 4 rooms, so it is the perfect place to sit back and relax. Tisha and her staff were really nice and made sure that we had everything that we need. Then there’s the food! Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night and it was a Monday, so we missed dinner but the breakfast and the snacks were some of the best we’ve ever had from any accommodation around the world. I cannot recommend this place enough and I would like to personally thank Tisha for her generous help and recommendations.

Fantastic homestay and probably the best dining experience I ever had in SEA! The food is simply outstanding, creative and surprising in taste and always comes with a little background story. The staff ladies are very friendly and mindful, making it really special to dine here. Staying in the hotel was also a wonderful experience (I stayed for 3 nights); this place is really a little oasis in Lahad Datu and the breakfast is again outstanding (I never had two courses of breakfast at any other hotel!). I also booked my tours to the surrounding nature with the owners Simon and Tisha, who were both very helpful in organizing the tours. The homestay is nicely located in walking distance to the airport (although you may want to consider taking a taxi because of the heat). All in all, I highly recommend this place. If you stay overnight, make sure you book your dinner with them. 😊
