Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

March 2024 Birthday getaway was wonderful and we are returning guests. This time we had a room facing the Sassagoula River. We love the New Orleans style atmosphere of The French Quarter. All of the staff were amazing from the welcome staff, food service, room staff and everyone who made my birthday special. We are Florida Residents and did enjoy the 30% room discount. I even received flowers delivered to the room by Disney Magic. Thanks to everyone at The French Quarter for making my birthday magical at The Happiest Place on Earth.

We absolutely loved this hotel and it makes it very hard to stay in another onsite when we have experienced this hotel. Disney doesn’t have to feel huge and packed with people. The hotel was easy to navigate around and you never felt you were too far from any amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food in the food court is fine. Normal fair. We bought resort mugs which were so handy for our 10 night stay, certainly worth the money. We loved the pool and the water slide was a big hit for our kids. We used the laundry facilities, very handy to have and also easy to drop your clothes off and have the site on your phone which tells you when to come back for them. The resort itself is clean and at night with lights on and jazz playing it is beautiful to walk around. Rooms are larger than I expected and it’s very helpful to have space under the bed for suitcases. It frees up floor space in the room. Beds are comfy and Disney does the little touches really well. Housekeeping were super. All round perfect hotel and we can not wait to visit again.

Amazing stay in the magic to celebrate our little mouseketeers first birthday. We stayed in building 5 which was super close to reception/restaraunt and bus stop. From the moment we arrived until we left we had some amazing interactions with the wonderful cast members, all were so friendly and kind. The pool onsite was closed for refurbishment during our 2 week stay however we were aware of this and made use of riverside instead. Im sure itll be amazing once the refurb is complete. The grounds around the hotel were immaculately kept with nothing ever out of place. We stayed in a garden view room which was perfect although a little lacking in storage which meant we utilised the 2nd double bed for suitcases during our stay. We had an amazing time and are already looking at returning sometime in the near future to this resort. Buses can get a little busy near park opening times however like most things in Disney are well organised and usually another bus isnt far away if you cant get on the first one.

Very nice resort. No crowds and very quiet and relaxing. I think it’s one of the best places to stay at in Disney. Much cheaper in comparison to the luxury hotels on site and in my opinion a better experience due to the layout of the resort. Our room was right on the river.

Terrible room design. Anyone using the toilet or washing their hands floods the bed area with light (curtains don't help much). Saving the cost of installing a door is shortsighted especially considering the cost of these rooms. Pools are all closed, renovation.

Amazing experience beignets amazing room brilliant but we were going to Disney springs but the bus was delayed and delayed. This was not the hotels fault, it’s about the bus. Something good , a cast member took us back in a buggy I recommend and hope to go back again next year with my family

Been to the Orlando area many times, but this was our first stay on site. The room was clean tidy and very comfortable. We stayed in block 4 which was close to everything. Room was very quiet except one neighbour had the tv on all night (I’m deaf so didn’t hear but the wife did) Sadly after being used to villa stays it was a bit much staying in one room. The things we really liked was the bus transport to the parks, we always got on the next bus and only ever waited 20 minutes once. We had a car and never went to the parks in it. Loved the boat to Springs, though it was busy 5.30 to 7.30pm but still great All in all a great stay All in all a great stay

We put in a request to be by the ferry dock and we got it. Top floor facing the river. So pretty. The room is good for a moderate category. Bedding comfy. Towels lacked some quality. In room safe, ironing board and iron. Coffee maker with teas and coffee. The A/C unit is a bit loud. The ceiling fan has only one fast speed. We used the ferry to go to Disney Springs a few nights. There were long waiting lines. We never used the buses. We used our car to get to parks. Free parking for hotel guests. It was easy and faster than the bus system. Food in their food court was really good. The mobile order doesn’t have all the meal selections.

Top line: A solid, picturesque option for moderate resorts at Disney World. It's worth noting that I've stayed at all levels of Disney resorts - from Art of Animation to Coronado to Old Key West to Yacht Club. Every room I've stayed in has been quiet, clean and comfortable. So it's hard to go truly wrong on a basic level. But there are differences in size, in small creature comforts, in amenities. Port Orleans French Quarter is the cleanest, most "Disney" version of New Orleans you'll ever see. It wins in its small size - it's an easy walk from any building to the main building/restaurant/pool/bar and there's only one bus stop, plus a boat dock that will take you to Disney Springs. That might be a downside for others - though it's an easy ride over to Riverside if you want a bigger pool, more dining options, etc. I stayed with two other women (my two best friends) in a double queen room. We were lucky to get a first floor room, and were in building 1 near the parking lot. The beds were comfortable and there was enough space to move around, but it's not a BIG room for three people. I definitely wouldn't cram four adults in one of these unless you were desperate. The theming is subtle and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Do note also that there is no room for a cot/rollaway bed, so no sticking one kid on a cot or making it work for a fifth person. I will always, always wish for bigger towels at hotels. These were fluffy and absorbent but they sure don't fit around your body well. Ditto the pool towels - give me BIG pool towels! The atmosphere is charming, the coffee and beignets were delicious, and overall, it's exactly what I expected. It might not be my first choice (I have been very spoiled by DVC rooms) but I would stay here again without regret.
