Best Western of Lake George

I had specifically spent a few hours to find a room with a jacuzzi in the room (not easy to find) and was soooo excited when I found the king deluxe suite with a jacuzzi listed in the bathroom amenities. We got there to a very outdated hotel with absolutely no elevators so the luggage dolly is useless unless you’re on the first stretch of the first floor (we were on the second). Opened up our room and not only was there no jacuzzi but there was a VERY small plain bathtub in a very small bathroom… we went down to the desk to ask them if they put us in the wrong room, they told us they do not have any rooms with jacuzzis in them and the rooms with “Pool side balconies” are nonexistent too that all their balconies are just for looks and the outdoor pool is a little ways away from the building so maybe a few windows could catch a glimpse of one side of the pool… the only reason I’m not giving this review a fat 0 is because the front desk staff was SO nice and SO welcoming and their breakfast was actually pretty good. We decided to just make the best of it since finding a hotel last minute in lake George is never fun and looked at all our disappoin**ents with humor. The room was perfect temperature the first night so we only used the top blanket to sleep but the second night we stayed we went to use all the blankets including the flat sheet to find someone else’s blood on the fitted sheet underneath... so disgusting. Needless to say we will not be going back there and would love to get our money back but it’s doubtful that will happen…

Pros: - Close to I-87, - Relatively close to Queensbury with a lot of restaurants and stores - Close to West Mountain - Reasonably priced - Clean rooms - Includes breakfast - Prompt check-in and check-out - Free parking Cons: - Very thin walls - you can hear your neighbors talking - A noisy AC unit (a lot of inexpensive hotels suffer from it) - No room service in 3 days (not sure why) - A bunch of small repairs are needed, such as a door knob, a shower door handle etc. - A tiny pool with a lot of people (maybe due to a busy weekend) - Gore mountain is a 40 minute drive (doable, but not recommended, if you can find something closer) - No elevators, so if you're on a second floor, be prepared to drug you luggage up - Breakfast is very limited and basic - Very dangerous slope to exit the hotel parking when it snows - barely managed to stop before the main road

We had a queen room, both beds were broken, one of the beds rocked front to back like a teeter-totter and the other sunk in the middle so badly that we couldn't sleep without overlapping each other. The indoor pool is much more worn and outdated. I got a cut on my hand from the edge of the hottub. Both the pool and hot tub were dirty. We had a do-not-disturb sign on our door and were awaken before 9 by very loud talking outside our door. Which turned out to be the maids. Definitely unexpected all around. We won't be returning. Positively, the room was clean, and the check-in/check-out staff were very nice. The breakfast staff on Sat morning was a doll, she's a keeper.

There were a few pieces of trash on the floor when we got into our room. The mattress was so soft, uncomfortable. Breakfast was not very good. Staff was very friendly & nice

We did not get the room we book. The large luxury suite we booked was given to other guests. We had to book another room to accommodate our party. I find it disappointing that the hotels can make the decision as to what room they decide to give to guests

The staff were very helpful and were there whenever you needed them. They made our stay very enjoyable and safe. Would recommend the hotel to family and friends. It also was.a very clean property.

The bed, shower and service was great. The complimentary breakfast looked great, but to get the hot options, you have to be up early. You snooze, you lose, I guess. But don't quote me on that, because I was cool with whatever. A pool and hot tub, vending machines...I just feel a microwave in each room would be a good thing. But still, I have nothing but great things to say, and again, the customer service from all areas, were fantastic.

I had two issues with the location. 1. While it was cold enough to create ice in the parking lot, I was told that the staff member on duty was here to fill in and would try to get to it soon. 2. My TV did not turn on and when I spoke to the staff he told me he could not fix it as he was the only on on duty so he swapped the room after I had unpacked everything,
