We stayed 3 nights mid-July on our trip to the Rocky Mountains NP. And we’re glad we booked Cowboy room in Linda’s lodge. It was a very good choice two people:
1) The lodge is located in a spectacular CANYON right next to the Thompson River. The scenery of the area differed than one in the NP, and that made our drives back after whole days spent hiking in the NP enjoyable.
2) The location of the lodge in the canyon caused decreased temperatures. We comfortably slept through every night while keeping the windows open. There was no need need for AC or a fan at night. On our last day, we made it back to lodge sooner than on previous days (around 3pm) and enjoyed the afternoon with a fan on. I was cooking while we stayed in the lodge, and never had I felt an level of heat around was uncomfortable.
3) Drive to the NP entrance took about 30 minutes, and on two days we left at 5:00am (before sunset).
4) Linda made an effort to make us feel welcome. We felt as if we were staying at someone’s little house in a canyon. The kitchenette was fully stuffed: pots, pans, utensils, a cutting board, a dish soap, an electric stove (2 rings), a microwave, small size fridge (no freezer), a coffee maker. The bathroom was clean, towels were provided but keep in mind to bring your own soap and shampoo. It makes sense since we have different preferences. There was an access to a coal-grill.
5) We’ll remember our evening conversations and with other guests who stayed next door. Great stay!
