Generally ok and I did extend my trip a couple of days. The food was good and the entertainment team were great. The front desk however are a bit full of themselves. When I arrived at 14h30 they told me the room would be ready by 15h15. When I went back at 15h30 they said 16h30… it was because they were still painting it! When I went in the room I lent against the wall and got covered in paint. I contacted the front desk who seemed very inconvenienced by the issue and said ‘I suppose you will want to change room’. Well yes… did they offer to help me clean off the paint, move my luggage to the new room, bring the new keys to me? No No No - had to do it all myself. So service recovery skills there non existent. They also messed up the new keys when I extended the stay so I had to go back. There is a club area on the beach but it is so badly signposted that people would drift in there and sit down and then get into a fight (literally) with the club guests. The signage needs to be made a lot clearer. I don’t really want to listen to that on my vacation and I expect people who go in there by accident want to be humiliated either. But I did like the hotel and particularly the beach was great for swimming.

The blankets were not properly washed they had a feces smell. There were really no options of wine but one red and one white no rose and the champagne was the worse quality. The staff were great and the property was well taken care off. If they wash the blankets with tide, Clorox in super hot water will be great and if they add more options of let’s say 3 red 3 white and 3 rose and a better choice of Champagne or Prosecco that will make a better experience for the guests

As soon as we arrived, Luis from guest services immediately took care of us. From start to finish he was nothing but smiles and has a friendly demeanor- it definitely made the experience better. The entire staff, when greeting, was incredible friendly. Any issues that we had, like being short on towels, WiFi connectivity, pool light not functioning, etc… Luis was always there to help out- Very very nice job!
Moreover, the restaurants prepared the meals really well and the plating/presentation of the food was very nicely done.
However , we weren’t a big fan of the Buffett and snack bar area - if there is any recommendation for improvement, this is where I would begin.
All and all the experience was nice.

I checked in on February 12th, 2024. Upon checking I tried to book reservations for any of their three specialty restaurants with no luck. The options were already at 10 PM for all the days that I am staying. I explained that I just checked in and the agent simply dismiss me. Later around 7PM walked by one of them that was 2/3 empty. Talked to the hostess who simply said that she needed a reservation. The food on the main dinning room is average, not impressive. This dinning area is obviously understaff and their employees have to do wonders running up and down. At some point I have to get up and get my water for their station because they were simply too busy.
The beach is not impressive either. Although the area is nice, the beaches around the property are not the bests.
I do have to say that the staff is probably the best asset of this property.
In summary, for the price and given how far they are from the main international airport, there are other options in DR that might be better.
My main recommendation: add a dinning area that can be use without reservation and it is not a buffet, even if your menu is limited (perhaps a sample of what you have in the other restaurants).

The location was amazing, great views, amazing beach, secluded property is well laid out.
The room was nicer however A/C wasn’t working properly and everything in room was damp and had white mold growing on surfaces. The food was below average. Nothing was warm and had little flavor

First contact was the front gate. The guard spoke only spanish so it took 10 minutes to get entry. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were nice, the food was great as well as the service.

As with all other reviews, this one has it's good points and bad points and of course it all depends on the individual. First of all is the transport. Keep in mind that Viva is quite a bit away from airports. do not fly in to POP (Puerta Plata). the trip in was so long Viva had to hire an outside taxi to take us and bring us back. The ups - the weather - gorgeous and calm 24/7 and very little wind. It felt like we died and were in heaven. The lounging areas - It was nice not to have to fight for a chair. There seemed to be plenty on both the beach and pool. They had cabanas and they were free. Just claim yours early.
The bad - the food. They have 3 special restaurants that you have to make reservations for right away but don't bother. After the first one we had to go to the buffet to eat because the portions were small. The second restaurant was so late in delivering we left after an hour because the main meal was not served and the third restaurant was also ditto. The buffet had a lot to choose from but nothing much that we liked. The room - our thermostat did work right so we were either cold or hot. Don't get a room with a pool cuz the pool is very small and cold. Entertainment was good and every night but keep in mind that they will blast dance music until the wee hours. if you can choose a room find one far away at the end. Overall - it was one of the most beut.stays but also one we won't go back to. need better food and more quiet.

Amazing!!!!
Excellent entertainment. My Fiancé and I enjoyed it to the max.
We stayed in one of the bungalows, beautiful room and plunge pool. Exceptional service at the restaurants.
The Spa was everything, relaxing and quiet.
