Iberostar Selection Creta Marine

Honestly don’t know where to start. Not one complaint on any aspect of the holiday. The Animation team were so lovely and Christina who was working mostly on the lobby bar looked after us every night. An absolute asset to the hotels staff team. All facility’s were exactly as described and more. The room was clean and modern. Jacuzzi was pre heated on arrival. Lots of sun loungers available every day very comfortable. As a couple who don’t like the sand on the beach we were able to relax on the concrete walkway around the cove. Again loads of sun loungers available. Always an amazing selection of food always presented lovely and tasted fresh. The restaurants were also lovely and made a pleasant change to the main restaurant. No issues with WIFI at all in our room, by the pool or beach.

The first six days of our seven night stay at Iberostar were very pleasant. Upon arrival we were greeted with free champagne and taken via golf cart to our "bungalow". We went half board which gives you breakfast & dinner at the main buffet restaurant and one reservation at each of the fancier restaurants at the resort. The buffet food was okay - the food resting in the hot trays was swimming in oil but if you get your food from one of the two stalls manned by Chefs cooking the food to order, it can be pretty decent. Getting drinks can be a nightmare at dinner as you have to wait for the staff to take your order and this can often be a long wait - usually after we'd finished our food. The food at Vegghera restaurant was very good. Definitely the best dining experience we had on our trip. The facilities are pretty good with numerous swimming pools/beaches to choose from and live performances every night. Cleanliness seemed to be a mixed bag with the waiting staff wearing gloves instead of washing hands. Bad practice. They did half heartedly encourage people to sanitise their hands before entering the buffet. As other people have mentioned, a strong smell of sewage wafts through the entire resort - it can be pretty pungent. Unfortunately, on our last night we dined at La Locanda, a restaurant on the site. The food was average and the aftermath was worse - overnight we both received pretty bad food poisoning with vomiting and diarrhoea. Upon notifying reception, the staff member turned nasty and literally asked "What do you want ME to do about it?" - refusing to believe we got poisoned, and then, amusingly and bizarrely, chose to pretend not to understand what we were saying, despite having perfect English moments beforehand. In the end it was clear they didn't want to hear it, wouldn't be investigating the cause and just wanted us to leave. Quite a disappointing end to an otherwise enjoyable holiday.

The rooms looked very nice and had everything we needed. The jacuzzi was a perfect change from the pool and the beach, especially in the evening or early in the morning when the pool wasn’t open yet/was closed already. The breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet had everything a person could wish for. The staff was very friendly and up to special requests. The food was fresh, very nicely prepared, the ingredients good quality. The barkeepers prepared very tasty cocktails and longdrinks.

Beautiful hotel! Upgraded to jacuzzi in balcony room, everything was perfect. Everyone working here is amazing, from receptionist to housekeeping and restaurant staff. A jewel indeed. Hotel was recently renovated so everything looks and feels new.

Very big thanks to nice lady with beautifyl name Katerina from reception she was very kind and helpful . Lady who work kitchen making omletes is very nice lady - i say big thanks for morning omletes what was delicious. Everything in that hotel is in high level , Room cleaning was very good. Food is very good, animation good ,pool area very good . Restaurant Thalasa has very nice workers-thanks them for all. Thank you Iberostar -we enjoy to be in your very beautiful hotel with beautiful view's and i recommendyour hotel.

The spa was amazing, I had three treatments and each one of them was extremely relaxing. Georgia M did my facial, the head massage was to die for and she took time to explain all the products. Eva did my golden hour experience to prepare me for the sun. She was lovely and so professional making sure I felt Comfortable. Evgenia did my Cretan massage and her pressure was exactly as I asked for. Every treatment was perfect and they made my holiday the most relaxing experience.
