The Foresters Arms

I’ve been visiting Carlton for the past 30 years or so and frequenting this pub for all those years. Perhaps 3 or 4 visits a year so it’s become quite a special place for me. This was my first visit since the change in management. Upon entering the pub it was so good to see a busy bustling bar area and so many people having a lovely time. It was quite hard to get to the bar for service but I did manage to squeeze through. Service was efficient and attentive at the bar, but there was no danger of getting a smile or any friendliness from the barman. The beer selection was absolutely excellent, fabulous Yorkshire ales. Semer Water kept perfectly and one of the nicest pints I’ve had in a long time. We ate here and the food was truly excellent, the chicken skewers were top notch and the chicken curry superb. I can’t recommend the place enough for a few beers and a solid pub meal. I’ll certainly be back again later in the year!!

Friendly country pub with excellent food and nice staff. Lovely feel to it with glowing fire and chat with all the locals. Would recommend. I had the chicken kebabs with salad and chips, so tasty while my husband had the special of fish curry with rice and naan bread.

Called in for our tea and a few pints came away totally stuffed and content from the beer food and atmosphere in the pub you won't be disappointed just leave room for the cheesecake best we have ever had the pub is dog friendly to top it off owners and locals are friendly as well 😁

Christmas menu for 10 was simply exceptional. The quality of the food, the quantity ( make sure you're hungry!) And the service ...even the Christmas crackers were quality!!! We had pate....delicious followed by superb turkey roast with all the trimmings...my husband had the salmon which was also delicious. Then yummy cheesecake, mince pies and coffee. ! Thankyou to all the team.

Spacious room, clean and loaded with charm. The beverage tray in our included mouse-shaped biscuits in keeping with the Robert Thompson ("mouse man") craftsman - their showroom is right next door. (Became acquainted with this furniture while in Kilburn, so a fun "bonus"). Service was great and complimentary breakfast was delicious. We had dinner both nights of our stay and everything we had was tasty! Lovely location - very picturesque. Served as a great home base while we were exploring this area.

Great pub, great food. Best roast ever had in a pub. Owners and staff friendly and helpful. Didn't stay there but met people who did and they said rooms were lovely and breakfast was great. Would highly recommend a visit to this pub it is a hidden gem

We have stayed in many locations over the past few years and this one is simply one of the best. From the minute we arrived we both felt at home and the proprietors and all their staff made us very comfortable in this gem of a community pub. A special mention has to go out to Diana (I’m crap with names so excuse me if this is wrong) who worked tirelessly during our stay and was so full of energy even though she doesn’t appear to sleep. Room comfort,facilities, food and of course location all first class as we experienced a perfect couple of nights. Will definitely be back and if we could we would give this 6⭐️

We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing weekend stay at the Foresters. A warm welcome, great menu, cosy bar and a very comfortable room. Superb breakfast choices with our dog treated to his own sausage! We really appreciated how dog friendly the pub is and an ideal base for walkers. We’ll definitely be back!

We ate here twice whilst staying in the village. It’s a fantastic pub. Excellent food, great choice of beers and very friendly staff. Sunday roasts were superb. Mid week food excellent too. Highly recommend this pub. Lovely atmosphere.
