This hotel is amazing. I have stayed here for years. HOWEVER, TRIP DOT COM needs to update what kind of room you are getting here. TRIP DOT COM does not know the specifics. In addition, check your BOOKING DATE. If you do a google search and log in thinking that you will be staying the same dates, TRIP DOT COM might push your search date to another day. Again, THIS HOTEL IS FAB. PERIOD. TRIP DOT COM needs some help :)

Our room was not ready when we got there. It was after 6 pm before we finally got checked in. They said they were short cleaning staff. They offered us a dessert or we could check out at 12 instead of 11.

I’ve stayed here off and on for years, but this time was disgusting. They allowed early check in, which was about the only positive. At first the room seemed in good condition, however later that evening after getting settled, we realized how gross our room was and it was beyond letting the front desk know just for them to want to uproot us and our 10 month old to another room. The shower had sand and hair in it, the shower curtain was stained, the floor was dirty to the point my sons feet and hands were black within 10 minutes of being on the floor, my son found crumbs and whole pistachios on the floor near the bed and there was sand around the front door as well. We ended up putting our son in his pack n play for the whole night trip because it was so nasty. Upon checkout, I let the front desk know for future reference and she said “well next time call the front desk, there’s nothing we can do for you now.” We probably won’t be back to this location, which is unfortunate because it used to be my go to.

Room and staff were great. View was wonderful. Only complaint was the room was not ready when we tried to check in at 6pm and had to wait over an hour for room to be ready. There was only one employee working the counter who was very kind throughout the process. Recieved a dessert voucher for our trouble, which was nice, but the dessert was still frozen which was not ideal. Still will come back.

Checking in was easily enough and I was pretty excited because the lobby was super cute, but things went downhill from there.
Spent waaaaay too much for one night (king room with fireplace) and the only redeeming quality of the hotel was its proximity to the beach.
The rooms are small. Smaller than my bedroom at home. The bathroom was so tiny in fact, that you couldnt sit on the toilet with the door open. The door pretty much scraped the toilet when opening/closing the door.
And to top it off, I tried taking a quick shower in the morning and didn’t even hit 10 minutes before the water went cold.
The room itself reminded me of an old apar**ent complex where the landlord just paints a coat of white on everything to hide dirt.
The absolute worst part of this hotel was the internet access. We had a room on the first floor and it was a TOTAL dead zone for both me and my partner. We tried connecting to their WiFi multiple times and couldn’t get more than one bar before it booted us off. I missed an important call from a family member and couldn’t even make dinner reservations without going out to the parking lot and sitting in my car.
I’d say this hotel is not worth what they’re charging. I would pay half of what they charge a night max and that’s only because of the balcony and water access.

FIRST THE DOWNSIDE: Unfortunately, Surtides experienced the perfect storm on Saturday, and between sold out rooms and lack of staff, our 4:00 check in turned into 7:00. While I have great sympathy for the staff, by 6:30 I had lost my patience. We finally got our rooms, and went out to enjoy what was left of the evening. NOW THE UPSIDE: I will say that despite the staff having to work very quickly, the rooms were VERY well cleaned and comfortable, and the rest of our stay was very nice. Thanks to manager Tony and the rest of the very competent staff for surviving my temper, and for providing very good customer service.

When we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready, lobby full of angry people. We finally were able to check in 45 minutes past guaranteed time. Attempted updates in room, bed comfortable, but no bedside lights or outlets. Was looking forward to balcony with ocean but it was covered in pigeon poo. Next disappoin**ent was dirty got tub and broken sauna. Won't be visiting again.

We had people above us that were beyond annoying until 1:00 am stomping on floor and what sounded like dragging a table across floor. Next morning went in to restroom ants everywhere thank goodness it was our check out day. We've stayed here several times never been this disappointed. The night clerk was very responsive and as helpful as he could be with the upstairs people.
