Hotele niedaleko Rossio Railway Station, Lisbon

Hotel is located very close to the Rossio Train Station. We stayed for 4 nights and it was a good stay. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and even steps from the hotels door. Very convenient. The Metro (Subway) was less than a 1 minute walk although we did not use it. Room was basic but very clean. Housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. Front desk was always attended and very helpful and pleasant as well. Will stay here again.

This hostel is operated like a 2-star hotel, providing cozy room with private bathroom and comfortable bed. The business must've undergone major renovation in recent years as everything looks new, practical and comfortable. It is also conveniently located close to the Rossio Metro station and all attractions including Castelo de S. Jorge Castle, the Lisbon Cathedral and Praça do Comércio.

This is our second time at Rossio Hostel - we thought it the best hostel we'd ever stayed at in 2019, and now it is even better. Not enough words to tell you everything great about it - though if we boil it down to two words it would be THE PEOPLE who work there are what makes it amazing. Sunday Fado night is not to be missed - when we were there Rossio brought in Jessica Fernandez, who is an amazing singer and she was backed by two highly skilled guitar players - one on classical guitar and one on the Portuguese guitar. Pizza night on Wednesday also included a cover band that was a lot of fun. Aside from all this Rossio Hostel is in a fantastic old building from the late 1700s/early 1800s (post-earthquake) - lots of character. Rossio sits right on Rossio Square - a very central part of Lisbon with the metro and trains right outside your doot. Now, as to what makes Rossio Hostel really stand out - well, that is the people. A big thank you, and kudos, to the staff at Rossio: Madalena, Leavis (hope I'm spelling your nake right my friend), Rita, Paula, Mackayla (also hoping I get your name right), Victoria and especially Elsa who cooked up amazing scrambled eggs and crepes Monday to Friday. I didn't catch the name of the weekend cook - also a big thank you to you and the young lady helping you on the weekend. There are other staff that I didn't have a chance to get their names. The staff at Rossio Hostel make you feel like you are at home - my partner and I also felt like we were part of their family for the six days we were there. The big downside to Rossio Hostel is when you have to leave - the staff make it really hard to leave, because they make you feel so welcome and at home. We've been there twice and we will absolutely be back. If there were a way to give a rating higher than 10 we would certainly do it. Thanks again to everyone at Rossio Hostel for making our trip so special and memorable. I booked this hotel before, but this time I changed the itinerary because of a temporary event, so I couldn't cancel it. Fortunately, I bought insurance before, and I could reimburse a part of it, which reduced most of the losses.

great hotel

Fantastic apartment. I was on a solo trip but this would be perfect for friends, family couples or business. Fully serviced with a fridge, oven, kitchen ware etc. great shower pressure. Comfortable bed/pillows. Had a small issue checking in as it’s an electronic checking, but there’s a phone available and they sent someone over straight away to help. Great service. The only criticism which is such a minor detail, was that I could smell the food being cooked in the apartment next door. Otherwise can’t fault the place! Aparantly they have 18 locations in Portugal or Lisbon, so I will defo be using the apartments again!!

While the room was decent, the plumbing gave off a nauseating smell that was even stronger in the hallway.I contacted the reception about and they said they could not smell anything.Don't be mislead by the picture , the hotel is not an oasis in the middle of a noisy city.Right infront of my window there were two restatants with terraces and a few feet away there were street performres drumming furiously till midnight to the delight of the screaming crowds.If you want to relax go elsewhere.

It was a good hotel to choose if I visit Lisbon again!! I booked a double room, but since I was visiting with a friend, I asked for a twin bed if possible, and I was really grateful for the change. First of all, the location is really good. I came in in the middle, put my luggage, charged my phone, and went out! The breakfast was varied and very tasty. The people who work are also kind, so I was grateful that they listened to my requests. The only regret is that they didn't change the towels every day, and they hung up the towels they used. Also, the floor of the room is not clean like Europe, where people wear shoes inside. However, there were no separate disposable slippers. Next time I go, I think I'll bring slippers.

On arrival, we were disappointed with the reception staff who were more interested in chatting amongst themselves and asking guests to wait. In our room, the windows had no sound proofing, so you hear all the street noise all the time. Be aware of hearing fire sirens at any time as the fire station is adjacent to the hotel. Our room was just ok. However, the water from the taps and shower was fierce and scaldingly hot unless you were careful. The shower was old and outdated. You could not even adjust the showerhead without standing in the bath. I have never stayed in a hotel of recent times with such poor shower facilities. Urgent updating needed. For a four-star hotel, it was disappointing. There were absolutely no room extras whatsoever. In this respect, it was more like a three-star hotel. I was also amazed to find that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in our room. The hotel leaves a bottle of water in you room each day with a message ”We wish you the most pleasant stay”. However, this is not complimentary. There is a charge of three euros. The good news is that next door there is a good supermarket selling everything, so buy your water there. Breakfast was buffet style and reasonable, but a lot of cold food that had been cooked hot. It was also so noisy inside the restaurant. As the weather was warm, we preferred to have our breakfast outside. However, it was very difficult to avoid cigarette smokers which was a major negative. Only one restaurant in the hotel was open instead of two, which was quite inconvenient. This hotel needs an update, and to review what this hotel should offer their guests. It appeared to me that the Mundial seemed to be more focussed on their business model, giving their room guests no extras. There are better hotels to stay at in Lisbon.

Super recommend this hotel, the service is super, the quality of each staff is very good, very friendly, friendly, patient and professional, the price is very high, it is very close to the bus station and subway station, there are many restaurants around, I really like this
