Celestial Hotel Luxury Suites and Spa

Husband and I stayed in May for a week and had the most relaxing time. The suites are perfect with separate lounge area, bed was so comfortable with lovely quality bed linen. Toilet / shower room, again fantastic, lovely towels and bathrobes. I don’t normally use the complementary toiletries but I did try the body lotion which was really nice. Great coffee machine, bottled water supplied and a kettle and mugs on request. We stayed B & B and found the breakfasts really good, fresh fruit, creamy Greek yogurt, beards, pastries, cereal as well as eggs, bacon etc. Omelettes were made fresh on request. Staff were fantastic and so professional. The on site a la carte restaurant wasn’t open but we ate evening meal in the hotel twice during our stay, the meals were okay but at €30 per person for a set 3 courses it’s a bit more expensive than eating out. The hotel is remote and everywhere seems to be at the top of very steep hills. We didn’t hire a car as we just wanted a week to relax. We went, via taxi to Lourdata a few evenings and had some lovely meals there, lots of tavernas, great food and excellent prices, starter, mains and litre of local rose wine averaged around €45 - €50. Taxis though are quite pricey. All in all we had such a lovely relaxing week at this wonderful hotel.

Came there for a job, the manager was unexpirienced and doesnt respect employees contract that they had agreement. The hotel are good but the managment doesnt help to improve it, cuz skill issues, a lot of workers are disapointed in a general.

We have just returned from our first trip to Kefalonia. Celestial is lovely, enhanced by the most beautiful pool and backdrop I have ever seen (and I have travelled extensively), very comfortable loungers and the area is so tranquil and peaceful. Truly the place for chilling out. Rooms were fine, although a little cramped for two, towels and products lovely. The coffee pods were replenished daily so the management must have taken note of previous comments. We were half board and assume the a la carte restaurant wasn’t open, perhaps as May is still a bit early in the season. Actually we weren’t that impressed with the food; breakfast quite basic and when I asked if I could order eggs Benedict the waitress looked quite perplexed - this facility must have been stopped as the fried and boiled eggs looked a bit sad and were cold. Strange to have tinned fruit salad in a bowl but there was a limited selection of fresh fruit. Evening dinner wasn’t great either so we ate out 3 of the 7 nights we had paid for. Everyone recommended Denis which did not disappoint; we also had a taxi to the delightful “Olive lounge” with amazing views - well worth a visit. I would have rated Celestial 4 stars due to the food but for the amazing pool and surrounding gardens which pushed it up to 5 stars and beyond in my opinion. Would definitely stay here again (smiley face)!

Beautiful spotlessly clean place to stay all suites have a plunge pool ours was a sea view which was gorgeous ,table and chairs and sun beds so nice to be able to relax on your own if you like to escape ,the only drawback is the pools overlook each other if you want complete privacy Main pool is the largest I’ve ever swum in and the area around is secluded with trees and flowers The restaurant is near the pool but covered so when we went you weren’t able to sit outside which we like to do at that time of the year when it’s not hot We had an issue with the food for the first couple of days but the manager soon sorted this out and it got much better during our week All the waiters &waitresses were wonderful In all we had a wonderful stay but I’m glad we didn’t pay full price most people were with secret escapes We didn’t hire a car and we were too early for local buses they start at the end of may however you can walk to the beach and there is a wonderful taverna called Denis we also arranged tours

Overall the hotel is excellent, the rooms, huge main pool & plunge pools are amazing. The location is quite remote so a car is needed-the local beach isn’t great but there are many other beautiful beaches on the island. There is a lovely taverna near the local beach called Denis, food is lovely & staff very welcoming. The hotel deserves a 5 star review but what lets it down is the evening food. We were half board & the service at night was chaotic with drink orders forgotten, cold food & long waits for orders to be taken. The waiting staff were all trying their best but lack any direction or leadership. We would definitely stay at the hotel again but would choose bed & breakfast only.

What a wonderful stay we had here this week, we can't rate it highly enough. The staff, from the reception to room servicing, gardens, bar, spa, to the lovely waiters were all lovely and incredibly helpful and friendly. The whole property was immaculate; rooms, bathrooms and public spaces are spotless and very attractively designed. Our forest view suite was spacious, airy and light, with a very comfortable lounge area with tv/radio (if you wanted it),squashy sofas and sliding doors to the terrace and plunge pool. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning was great. The bathroom had a fabulous rain shower and a very plentiful supply of gorgeous smelling toiletries. The infinity pool is beautiful, with plenty of sun beds, umbrellas and cabanas. The restaurant area overlooking the pool is lovely, with comfortable tables and chairs for enjoying a pre dinner drink from the extensive cocktail menu. Sadly the fine-dining restaurant wasn't open when we were there, but the food was lovely, if a little lacking in imagination. The area is just lovely, with beautiful views both towards the mountains and the sea. A short walk down to Trapezaki Beach and you will find a lovely local taverna that offers the perfect spot for sunset, lovely wines and the best tarama we have ever had. There are a few things they need to sort out before reopening next year, but we felt that these are too minor to mention and are all being addressed anyway. Would highly recommend in every way.

We had a lovely restful holiday at Celestial. The forest suite was immaculate and very comfortable. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were there on a half-board basis and enjoyed our meals on the whole but would suggest varying the starters which were always a salad and desserts to include Greek specialities like orange pie or baklava. We would like to return in the future.

So, like a number of people we got an excellent deal with Secret Escapes for 5 nights at Celestial Suites. As per nearly all the previous reviews the place is fabulous, with the centrepiece being the frequently photographed main pool being even more impressive in real life. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and available at all times, no complaints. Food was great, both breakfast and dinner were enough in all areas. I know there are some complaints regards breakfast choices etc however my partner and I had no issues with there being enough choices all round. The hotel is clean, very well maintained and everyone obviously working hard to become a smooth run unit after its first season. Again I have to recommend the awesome Denis Restaurant, the food is just lovely for such an out-of-the-way place, highly recommended for a visit at any time. Loved the chilled, very un-touristy beach which is an easy walk from the hotel. The only negatives with our stay are that the small ‘6’ block overlooks the main entrance and bar/restaurant areas so is not as private as the other sections clearly are, can be a bit noisy at peak traffic/drinking times. Also the wet room has a small design flaw in that the shower water runs across the toilet and does not drain so leaving a large puddle in front of the toilet afterwards, which is a bit irritating. Still going to give the place 5 stars however as that was all I could find fault with. PS if you stay in room 602 look out for the preying mantis and lizards in the lavender by the plunge pool, absorbing to watch, along with the wonderful mountain view backdrop. Also ask if they can provide another terrific thunder and lightning storm we enjoyed on the second evening!!!

What a fabulous hotel. Quiet and relaxing, lovely breakfasts. Go for the local yoghurt and honey, oh my word!! It was late in the season so the pool was a bit chilly. The staff were wonderful and friendly. Menu for the evening we felt was very limited. The room was spectacular, Mountain View with plunge pool and all mod cons. We are hoping to visit again next year. All in all a wonderful stay
