Villa Florentine

From the moment that I reach out to book I am treated very specially. Anne Christensen takes care of me whether I email or call. She understands what my wife and I need. We love to be spoiled. She has trained her staff to treat us that way to. The room that we got was spacious and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable. The pillows were really soft as I like them. My wife prefers them a little firmer and that is what she got. They provide water as much as you like. The views out of the windows is so romantic. The spa provided me with Clair who gave met the best massages that I have ever had. One of the four days I had a two hour massage and on another day I had a two and a half hour massage. The staff on the reception were terrific. Anne always leads the way. Diane, Sarah and Caroline were wonderful, offering their assistance always. Avner and Richard were the night team and they could not have been nicer. The concierge team consisted of Nicolas, Quentin and Loick were so helpful. Their participation began right after I made my reservation. They booked our pick up at the airport. They made and confirmed dinner reservations immediately. The breakfast servers, Olivier, Gauthier and Mathilde were kind and patient, especially when my wife wanted breakfast in the room. The General Manager, Emmanuel Lallemand should be very proud of his team. They are a reflection of him and his expectations. They all make us happy to call this home when we come to Lyon.

The hotel is truly exceptional - the location, service and staff we're absolutely amazing! There was not a single thing that could have been handled more professionally - from reserving a cab, making a dinner reservation, accommodating any changes, or anything else!

We spent 3 nights in two rooms at Villa Florentine just before Easter. What a marvelous hotel. The attention to detail and the personal level of service was beyond expectation. The hotel is beautiful. The lobby area is a great place to get drinks, and if you visit later in the year, you would be able to take advantage of having a drink outside looking down towards the old town and the skyline of Lyon. This is the kind of hotel where they will make a note when you leave the hotel on the morning and for dinner, and your room will be cleaned without any inconvenience to you. At night the housekeeping will leave little surprises on your bed. Our rooms were on the top floor looking out over the whole of Lyon towards to old town and made the 240 steps up from the town worth it every single time. The weather was not the best, but we still made use of the pool, the sauna, and especially the heated marble chairs was a hit. Even in very cold weather a robe was enough to keep you warm. The pool was heated for swimming and not lounging, so just be aware of that if that is your thing, but if you kept active the pool war really nice to do a few laps in. Being an older hotel, one of very few issues we had was with the hot water. It really took forever to get it warm, but we took that as being part of the charm of being right at the top of the hotel. We only had breakfast once. The breakfast was served at the mezzanine, and was quite nice with quality items, but unfortunately the crepes and the poached eggs (almost hardboiled) came out very cold. We thought it was probably due to the restaurant being under renovation and they had to do with what they got, but we decided that we would eat at some of the great brunch places in Lyon the next couple of mornings and we did not complain, so it would be unfair to take away from the rating, as we did not give them a chance to rectify it.

Splendid place to stay. The hotel is beautiful. The inside is well designed and put together well. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very nice rooms. The service is excellent and the staff is very professional and courteous. The stay was great.

Unfortunately only stayed one night with my friend before flying home. Staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating to my requests, bed was super comfy plus all amenities you need and views to die for! Neighborhood is more residential, but very easy to walk down hill to Vieux Lyon.

Villa Florentine is a beautiful place to stay. Everything was well maintained and gorgeous. The location was great. The reception was nice and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and the food was great too. Amazing place.

Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. The rooms are designed very nice and the beds are comfortable. Excellent luxury boutique hotel and would highly recommend. The hotel has been modernized but the charm is still there. The restaurant is good too.

Beautiful hotel with amazing view of Lyon, with excellent service. The hotel is a renovated convent, so it has all the charm of the old combined with all modern amenities. Lyon itself was a surprisingly picturesque city, that is worth visiting.

very nice city, exceptional hotel with excellent location, near attraction. Lyon known for best french food. I would use the heated pool and jaquzi, and the city had to offer great walking , nice cafe's and beautiful scenery.
