Hof Ehrenfels

We loved the location and the cute style of this hotel. Very homey and cosy during a cold winter stay. The location was tops - close to everything like cafes, restaurants, shopping in general and those wonderful Christmas Markets. We had one breakfast here and it was excellent. Plenty to chose from and even red and white wine - never have seen that at breakfast before!! The twin room was quite spacious with a nice but smallish bathroom which suited us fine. Everything was clean and fresh. The staff were obliging and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is without doubt the best in Mainz situated in the oldest and prettiest surviving part close to the cathedral and perhaps 100 yards from the Chagall windows in St. Stephen's. The hotel is genuinely old with beams everywhere. The breakfast was plentiful (better choice than most) with grape juice from its own vines. The rooms were spacious (ours was the largest, room 111 and had a superb view of the cathedral spires/towers) and fully equipped even with a large electric fan (and we needed it). The hotel had its own courtyard restaurant, again with a view of the cathedral - and the food was excellent. My wife is a vegetarian and it was really nice for her to have an imaginative good choice of food. Excellent wine from the region too. Can't fault the place. I'd stay there again.

Nice hotel right in the heart of the city, it seems the whole place was recently renovated, because the rooms could use a bit more of decoration or design, as it felt very empty in there, there was the basic furniture and nothing else, not even a flower pot or something like that to add to the ambiance of the room. Besides the rooms feeling and looking empty the hotel restaurant is very good and I would highly recommend for anyone staying at the hotel to try it out, the prices of food and drinks are also quite fair and there is a huge selection of regional wines. Location is great you can reach all the sight seeing spots easily on foot, 5 minutes walk to the Main river and about 10-15 minutes walking to the train station. I would definitely visit this hotel again but I’m just hoping that they add some improvements to the rooms to make them more comfortable

I had booked rooms in the apartments associated with the hotel, however, there was a problem with one of the apartments, we moved to the hotel. The manager was so helpful, explained the issue, helped us move. The hotel was newly renovated, clean, bright, amazing location. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is small, which was fine for me, but could be tricky for two. We wanted to eat at the restaurant one night, but hadn't made a reservation, next time!

Wir waren spontan zum Essen dort. Restaurant war voll, doch es wurde eine Lösung gefunden. Schlussendlich hatten wir nicht einmal eine Zeitbeschränkung. Das Essen war solide. Der Service hingegen war Top. Also echt mal, 5 Sterne. Man fühlte sich wie von 3 Leuten gleichzeitig bedient.
