Just returned from a fabulous holiday at The Mistral. Excellent hotel for single people of all ages. From start to finish the holiday was one of the best holiday I have had. Anja on reception was brilliant and always helpful. Andonis the owner and Panos always ensure that everything they can possibly do for their guest is of the highest standard , and always ensure you have the best holiday experience possible , they go out their way to help feel at home. The hotel is spotless. Rooms was cleaned every day with daily clean towels. Aircon is n rooms was quiet too . Food is Cretan / Greek and all vegetables and salads come from their garden , with excellent breakfast and dinner with wine including the pricey . The fish lunch trip is the must , two hours at a lovely beach them onto the best fish restaurant in Crete. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s most certainly the friendliest hotel ever . Made a lot of new friends that we will stay in contact. I enjoyed my stay there so much that I will be booking for the next year .

I cannot praise the Mistral highly enough. From the moment I was met at the airport by Adonis and Panos I felt truly welcome and looked after. The hotel itself is lovely, with two nice pools, lots of sunny or shady spots to relax and a pretty bar with friendly, efficient staff. I had a great room with a sea view. It was a standard room and although not huge it was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The set-up here suited me perfectly. During the day you can choose to chill out alone, chat with other guests or go on trips organised by the hotel. In the evening everyone east together outside on a long table. These dinners were fantastic occaiosn, with plentiful food and wine and a great atmosphere. For me disaster struck on the evening of my third day. We'd had a brilliant Greek dancing session with Panos and then a group of us carried on dancing to tracks chosen by us and duly played by the barman. Unfortunately I went a bit crazy and tore a muscle in my calf. From the moment this happened everyone, management, staff and guests alike, were absolutely brilliant and couldn't have done more to help. Anja arranged for me to go to a clinic the next day and also very kindly helped me to move from my first floor room to a ground floor one. I spent the rest of the holiday in a wheelchair or hobbling on crutches. This meant that I couldn't go on the trips I was planning to do or actually do anything other than lie by the pool. It would have been pretty miserable if I had been on my own in an ordinary hotel, but here it was like being among family and friends right up until I was dropped off at the airport, where the ground staff and Jet2 continued to look after me. All in all the Mistral is a unique and fantastic place. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, and promise everyone that I will be more sensible next time.

This is a lovely, well-run hotel that specialises in catering for solo travellers. While there is a delicious and copious communal evening meal most days, it is up to individual travellers how much they mix with other guests. The staff are dedicated, friendly and efficient. Interesting excursions are offered and Panos does much of the driving. Everyone is made to feel welcome. The higher-end rooms are of a reasonable size (including the shower area) and comfortable, though not really 'de luxe'. The two pools are well-situated and proved a popular recreation. i had a most enjoyable week.

My first time as a solo traveller and I had a very relaxing week at the Mistral. I met a lovely group of fellow travellers and was so impressed with the delicious food and excellent service from everyone at the Mistral. A special mention for Anja who went out of her way to help me resolve a work issue that arose during my stay. I highly recommend the Mistral and look forward to visiting again soon.

Absolutely amazing hotel, the owner and the staff go above and beyond. We were a family staying at a nearby hotel and we visited here for dinner one evening, it was so good that we visited for dinner a further 2 evenings. The hospitality is unreal. I cannot fault at all. It was lovely to see all the solo travellers coming together and having the best time and making new friends. The food was AMAZING and the owner is none other than a beautiful kind and amazing person. Thank you

My flight had me arrive at the hotel after the communal dinner; so I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to find out that they had kept a bunch of food for me to eat once I arrived. Something I learned they do all the time. The food at the hotel was amazing. It's all farm to table with a heavy emphasis on locally produced olive oil. I did multiple events/outings and some were tourist destinations anyone could find; and some only a local would know. The major aspect that made the hotel so lovely was the social aspects are designed to bring even a shy person out of their shell to socialize (especially after Covid). It's family owned and run and they truly see each and every guest as a family member. Having been I can see why so many guests have been returning to visit for decades.

What a wonderful introduction for a first solo holiday and it couldn't have been in a nicer spot. Everyone was so friendly especially Anja, Manos, the twins Mateo and Antonio, their elder brother and Adoni for his slow (but wonderful) cooking and use of olive oil 😂👍. Not forgetting Panos and his fantastic Greek dancing.

Nice rooms! Off the beaten track, 50 minutes from Chania by local bus, food very basic Cretian, ..... if you are Solo it's all about mixing and mingling, because you have nowhere to go, its too far out! The Owners cash in on this and the Singles Market, they keep you there, for Accommodation, Food, Drink, and Inhouse Tours , and they aren't too pleasant either! Don't bother unless you're desperate for company!!

My first solo holiday, I was a bit apprehensive but the welcome and treatment at this wonderful hotel is amazing. I arrived late on the Sunday night, coming down to breakfast the next day was so welcoming. Anja is so helpful as is all the staff at the Mistral. The food is wonderful and so fresh and wholesome, the rooms are lovely. I can see why people return again and again to meet up. As a solo traveller this holiday was a great experience and I would certainly return again.
