Malena Hotel & Suites - Adults Only by Omilos Hotels

I have a difficulty rating our stay because it started with a disaster: upon arrival, WE COULD NOT HAVE OUR ROOM. The staff claimed the room has not been freed in time for emergency reasons. So for the first night, with no choice, we were put in a 3star hotel nearby, in a little, smelly and hot room which is not at all a substitute for the one booked, even with a free dinner offered with it (in the same 3star place). Not speaking of the trouble of moving in the evening and the next morning, instead of all our plans. Despite this obvious and forced downgrade, we have been charged by Trip.com as originally booked, that is, as if we stayed the first night in Malena. Something is not right here.

The review by chavee sums up just about everything that I would say about this place. Well done! My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet one expects when you go to an adults only place. The room was amazing, the grounds were made up for lazing by the pool on lounges or picking a king size sun bed in the sun or in the shade. We were lucky enough to have a deck large enough to incorporate two lounges, a king size sun bed plus our own private pool. I like to do body resistant exercise routines morning and night so the deck was perfect for this with a final dip in the pool that was soooo refreshing! The cleaning staff kept our room clean and tidy, the eating area staff and hostess were totally amazing as well. They kept our table clean of dishes as we finished each dish. Management should be very proud of the staff that they have working for them. Staff like this is worth their weight in gold. I if you stay here and feel like something to eat on site try the daily chef special. It changes daily and I was not diasappointed. Thank you for the great meals chef! I totally highly recommend the Malena!!

The hotel’s breakfast experience was marred by an unexpected charge of 3.50 for a cappuccino, which felt strangely reminiscent of a bygone era. This additional fee left a rather odd impression, as it seemed out of place in a modern hospitality setting...

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 6 nights last month. The thing that caught our eye was the adults only option. If you hate loud undisciplined children and their insufferable entitled parents then this is the place for you. The staff is there to focus on their guests without having to play babysitter to spoiled brats. The service was impeccable. When my wife finished off a particularly good bottle of wine during dinner service at the hotel restaurant, the hostess Christianna drove to their sister hotel location to fetch another one of those bottles. The room was also great. Very spacious terrace with a hot tub and the bed was comfortable. I noticed other reviews where one of the complaints was the location and proximity to attractions. So what. That’s the point I think. Let’s be frank….the city is not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s dusty and hot and aside from the bayfront, not all that pretty. The beach is at most a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is an awesome bakery practically across the street that is better than anything I saw in Heraklion. We also went to a restaurant that was recommended by the bartender that turned out to be so good, we went there twice. The restaurant is called Thigaterra and is only 8 minutes by foot from the hotel. There is also a large grocery store 2 minutes from the hotel that actually has everything you might need or have forgotten. Once you go adults only, you’ll never go back.

Nice apartment (in our case a jacuzzi) with good breakfast, nice seating around the pool. A little bit of the centre but if you rent a car you can go all directions in 2 hours. Near the beach and some nice restaurants

Had a lovely room on ground floor with a small outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the fabulous weather. Pool is a good size - slightly cool when first got in but perfect after a few minutes in the hot weather! Breakfast and all meals were great - and staff very helpful. Bus stop just outside so really easy to get into city by bus. Supermarket and laundry just down the road and lovely restaurants close by too- so great location.
