The Plough Inn

Lovely hotel with ample parking and an excellent restaurant. There had been a mix up with the room we'd booked but they had upgraded us to the Bridal suite so we were very happy. It was a large room with a huge bed with big fluffy pillows and lovely bed linen. We also had a sofa and ample storage space for our clothes. The bathroom was large too, with a walk in shower and bath. The hotel keeps tables available in the evening for residents who wish to dine in, but you need to advise them after breakfast. Although there are lots of tables and chairs in four restaurant areas, there are only two small areas with comfy chairs to relax after dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed our recent stay at The Plough. The room (free upgrade - thank you) was comfortable and well furnished, clean and the bathroom was supplied with good toiletries. The food was great, plenty of choice both at breakdast and during the day/evening. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We dined at a fantastic restaurant and a charming four star hotel called the Plough Hotel and Restaurant, located just down the road in Rhosmaen. It’s definitely a country hotel, but the food is very urban and wonderful. We were celebrating my hubby’s birthday and there were six of us in total. They sat us in the conservatory, which is much more relaxed than their main dining room. I can tell you the staff were lovely, but sadly, not the friendliest or the most knowledgeable of people. Ultimately, that didn’t matter as you come for the food, and it is extraordinarily delicious. We first started off my sharing several of the “light bite” plates, which included the salt and pepper fried squid, tempura battered cauliflower florets and coriander & chickpea falafel. Each one of them had wonderful little homemade sauces which we devoured. We then ordered several mains to share, which included slow cooked Welsh lamb, Welsh sirloin steak, roast Gressingham duck breast, citrus & herb crusted salmon and the chicken chasseur. The chef should be commended, as the food was absolutely wonderful and we finished it off with local Welsh wine a Glyndwr Dry and an Australian Euca Hill Shiraz. Truly a delightful birthday dinner. Make reservations, as they are busy.

I made a 12 hour round trip to catch up with some friends and stayed at The Plough, with my very large dog. I had a super dog friendly room with direct access to the grounds, and in the dining room. Food was delicious, they also made me a packed lunch for my journey home. The brownies were to die for! Lovely clean and friendly.

As ever a wonderful stay at the Plough with the added bonus of a surprise room upgrade. This was our 6th visit and as ever the plough never stops giving from wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, fantastic surroundings and lovely comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

The reviews can be trusted, this is a very friendly well appointed Hotel fully deserving the ratings given on this site. The rooms are very well furnished and the hot water supply to the bathroom is excellent obviously powered, my wife likes a bath and it was easy to fill, something not often found elsewhere ! We have stayed several times in the last few years and the Hotel and Staff have never dissapointed.

Was in area checking prospective walking routes and suitable bases. Arrived to find ample car parking to front and rear. Reception staff friendly and proactive in dealing with clients and this was the norm throughout. Room was spacious with ample seating unlike a lot who can only fit in one chair! The view of countryside across the Towy valley was engrossing and a change from most hotel views of brick and concrete. Restaurant is large but ensure to book for weekend meals as it attracts a full house. The evening meal was excellent, service as throughout was attentive. Breakfast superb all requests met and variety excellent, self service toast and bread range was above normal standard. Only slightly negative reaction, was although the bar has a good range of well kept beers it is not set out for clients who just want to have a drink all the floor areas are dedicated to the restaurant clients. So having submitted nearly 400 reviews I can affirm that this hotel overall would be in my top ten list!

We had a development weekend at the Plough . The room provided for the daily discussions was fantastic and the staff kept us stocked up with water , juice and tea/coffee. The accommodation was very very good and the bar and restaurant facilities absolutely fantastic. All of the staff we met were friendly approachable and only too happy to assist. Will definitely be returning
