Riad Basma Marrakech

From the moment I arrived until the moment I departed the staff at Riad Basma Marrakech were superb. They welcomed me, and helped carry my luggage to my room. They demonstrated how the air conditioning and the security safe worked, showed me the wifi username and passwords and gave me information and times regarding breakfast. The room was atmospheric which of course looked onto the highly decorative courtyard. The wifi was excellent and worked faultlessly. The breakfast which was quickly served on the roof terrace was simple and delightful. When making enquiries Fatima was incredibly helpful and informative and spoke and wrote very good English. Upon arrival Yassin welcomed me and showed me and familiarised me with the amenities. Latifa was a very pleasant and helpful lady who was flexible with her cleaning times. The team even helped me book a porter and a taxi to and from the premises. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and professional and I can only say a huge thank you to them all.

Maybe we just had bad luck but we found the riad cold and unwelcoming. A warm welcome or some friendliness might have made us overlook some of the poorer aspects. The riad booked a taxi for us from the airport which is a good idea as it is hard to find initially. We were met from the taxi and we scurried after our greeter with no words. He showed us to our rooms. Sadly there were things broken in both rooms. In my room there were no batteries in the safe. Even after finding batteries it still didn't work. My window shutters were also broken and couldn't be properly closed. My friend's room had more than one light bulb out and the shower didn't work properly. The guy didn't appear to speak French or English so he telephoned the owner who did her welcome on the phone. We felt completely lost. She just told us it was perfectly safe to walk around and when we asked for a restaurant recommendation she gave us a name which we tried to find ourselves but didn't unsurprisinly! It was perfectly safe but as first-time visitors and 2 single ladies we were hoping for a bit more warmth. We wanted someone to greet us, get a map out and show us where things were, where we were, recommend places to go etc. There is no doubt that the riad is great value. We slept soundly however one family checked out at 4.30am so that woke us up and another couple checked in late and that woke us up! That's just unfortunate I guess. Breakfast on day one was omelette and then 3 types of bread. We didn't bother day 2, day 3 was a bit better. The orange juice was gorgeous although we had to request it day 3. We were staying another 3 days - we decided to move to a different riad which turned out to be super friendly. This one is in a great position for exploring the medina and the square. Shame about the hosting. There's no reception and no staff 'hanging around' so if you want to ask anything you have to text the owner / manager. We can be objective because we stayed at a different riad so can offer a comparison.

Riad super limpio y acogedor, el trato inmejorable al igual que sus desayunos en su bonita terraza. La situación del sitio perfecta, a 5 minutos de la plaza jammal fna. La hospitalidad de la familia a destacar. El patio y las habitaciones de estilo marroquí súper cuquis.

Inmejorable experiencia en este Riad,la ubicacion muy cerca de la plaza pero en una calle muy tranquila que te permite descansar,las habitaciones cuidadas y muy limpias,los desayunos en la terraza son excelentes,el personal muy agradable y simpatico,dejo para el final el trato de Hasna(la propietaria)de 10 en todos los sentidos,simpatia,eficacia,predisposicion ayudar e orientar.Solo me queda darle las gracias publicamente por tanta empatia con nosotros.Nos volveremos a ver.Mil gracias sinceras

Un sitio increíble cerca del centro de Marrakech, el Riad lo llevan personas que son como un familia y son encantadores. El desayuno abundante y muy rico. Ali, las dueñas del Riad y la cocinera son gente espectacular, tanto que cuando volvamos en breve repetiremos.

La chambre que nous avons eu, avais le mur prêt du lit qui s’effriter (pas top pour moi qui suit enceinte), les draps et couverture avais plein de taches, très déçu par le petit déjeuner car nous avions pas vraiment le choix sur les boissons chaude ni la nourriture (avec une petite fille qui ne boit ni du thé ni café, rien d’autre ne lui a était proposé) et il manque un petit bar à cette hôtel car nous avons fait certaine pose dans l’hôtel la journée et aucune boissons proposé même payante. Et l’hôtel et assez difficile à trouver quand nous avons pas de connection internet, et la wifi marche seulement sur la terrasse de l’extérieur ou à côté de la box.

Estuvimos pasando la Navidad en familia en Marrakech y, sin duda, no podríamos haber estado en un lugar mejor que en el Riad Basma. Hasna y sus compañeros nos hicieron sentir como en casa en todo momento. El Riad es un remanso de paz y un oasis en medio del ajetreo de la Medina. La amabilidad de Hasna y de su equipo hicieron que nuestro viaje fuera súper especial. Infinitas gracias! Sin duda, 100% recomendable.

Nous avons séjourné durant 5 nuits dans ce Riyad au cœur de la medina de Marrakech, tout était parfait! Accueil depuis l’aéroport jusqu’à la porte du Riad, l’endroit est calme bien que proche du souk, Fatima et son équipe sont au petits soins pour votre confort! Nous etions avec 3 enfants 11-13-16 ans et tout le monde a adoré. Nous y reviendrons

Alojamiento con mucho encanto. Personal atento en todo momento a cualquier necesidad que puedas tener. Zona cercana a la plaza con más vida de Marrakech y a la vez muy tranquila para descansar. Totalmente recomendable. Abderrahim, Hasna y Fátima son fantásticos.
