Family trip two weeks 8th to 22nd of August. 3 people in the first, 4 p. in the second week. Dolce Vita Apartment, 1900€ per week, accommodation only. Cala Alcaufar is a very very nice place, not too many tourists, you’re only 50m from the water, and you have a beautiful view. We took the “more luxury apartment” (Dolce Vita Apartment) and hoped to find the kind of apartment seen on the Internet site (photo gallery). The good points: Everything is clean, staff is very friendly, pool area is nice, The view from the balcony is stunning, The restaurant of the hotel is okay with a view on the bay (but the food is much too expensive for what it is). Towels are changed whenever you want it. The bad points: No decoration inside of the apartment, it’s like a clean white sterile thing. The second sleeping room is very very tiny, there is no cupboard for storage inside the bedroom or in the main room, just two drawers underneath the bed. The mattresses are very hard and extremely uncomfortable. The curtains are just a little bit too small to cover the whole window…. The kitchen is very poorly equipped. Four glasses, two wine glasses, 5 cups, no coffee machine (just a small Bialetti which would work for two people), no bowls. Nearly impossible to cook even a basic meal like pasta with sauce, salad and a dessert for four people. The balcony is very long but narrow , it’s quite difficult to sit on it and have a breakfast with 4 chairs. We were told that there would be cleaning every five days, but after a whole week we had to ask for the first cleaning, and they didn’t come a second time. Internet is existing but hard to use, very unstable, don’t expect to watch a film or work for an hour without being cut off 10 times…. Without Internet Wi-Fi you are on 3G on the balcony… For the price we paid we expected a more luxury apartment, better equipped and furniture in a better shape. We feel quite fooled, the price is largely overpriced, even for a high season period.
