One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. This property is Swiss-run and you can truly feel the attention to detail and quality throughout. It is incredibly quiet, nestled in the middle of a mangrove forest right by the sea, with ocean access that feels almost like having your own private pool. The restaurant serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. The cottages are outstanding—spacious, solidly built from wood and bamboo, and beautifully maintained. They feature large balconies and are so well constructed that you might think they are brand new. Everything is extremely clean, and it’s clear that great care is taken across the entire property. At night, the natural sea breeze makes the fan almost unnecessary, and the mosquito nets ensure a comfortable sleep. The location is about 5 km from Moalboal, easily reachable in around 15 minutes by tricycle for 100–200 pesos. Just across the road, you’ll find a route leading into the mountains, and there are waterfalls nearby as well. I especially appreciated the peaceful setting compared to Moalboal, which can be quite noisy at night. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for tranquility, beautiful ocean views, and a relaxing stay.

Escapo Verde Lodge is one of the finest back-to-nature experiences in the Philippines! The lodge is built into the mangroves where you melt into nature on your way to the restaurant for a top-notch filipino/cosmopolitan meal. The deck of the restaurant extends over the sea where birds and local fishermen go about their daily rounds. The cabins and dormitories and walkways are elegantly crafted of local wood and situated into the breeze for natural cooling and shelter from the sun. We retreat here to do field studies in archaeology for our classes at University of San Carlos. There is a meeting room suitable for classroom use. For solo or small group escapes this lodge is superb!

This place is beyond five stars! From start to finish our experience here was absolutely fantastic. We received such a friendly and warm welcome from Simon when we arrived, which included helping with us with our luggage and guiding us along the peaceful bamboo boardwalk. As soon as we saw the setting, we were bowled over by its natural beauty and the way that the owners Simon and Alain have created an absolutely stunning, peaceful haven. Simon and Alain's kind hospitality was continued throughout our stay. They checked in on us and offered really helpful local recommendations and advice which helped so much when planning our days. The whole staff team really make this place special. The food was phenomenal- beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients. We tried lots of things on the menu including the great range of vegetarian choices and every single dish we ate was delicious! The beautiful restaurant with its fantastic staff, food and views, made our meal times truly memorable experiences. There were many lovely gestures during our stay. For example, the kitchen team learned one of us liked a specific vegetable not on the menu - the head of kitchen found some in the local market and cooked it to perfection! It was so thoughtful. We also had very last-minute plans, bringing some additional family for a couple of days and these plans were accommodated and they were made very welcome too. The cottages were beautifully designed with so much attention to detail. They were really comfortable, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We honestly can't recommend this place highly enough! Thank you so much to all at Eskapo Verde for making our stay such a special one.

Eskapo Verde is one of the best place to stay in Cebu. Location is a good escape from the busy place of Moalbal, you can easily do your activities and be back in Eskapo for a nice retreat of the day. The place is surrounded by the sea and different types of mangrove, so you get to enjoy not just a relaxing atmosphere but definitely a diverse flora and fauna. The rooms and facilities are thoughtfully designed. Despite not having an AC - the place provides a nice wind and the rooms itself have a very good ventilation (which is sooo nice). Also, you can see that despite using a lot of wood in their rooms/facilities - it is very well kept. The staff gives a very great service and assist you the best way they can. They already have a contact for rental and canyoneering activities you can do which ensures a more worry-free stay. They also have multiple activities in the place you can do such as swimming, trekking, paddle boarding, and horse riding by the mountains. The food is 10 out of 10. The size of the serving, the view in the restaurant, and the taste is so perfect. They also have food that are vegetarian friendly. Their food provides a classic Filipino dish with a twist, and their desserts are so good!!! Such gratitude and kudos to the team (thank you too Simon!!) for maintaining and nurturing a place as good and unique as Eskapo Verde. Already looking forward to my next stay.

Surrounded by nature and tucked away from the busy tourist areas, this place offers a rare sense of calm and simplicity. It was my first time trying vegan cuisine, and I was amazed at how delicious and satisfying the meals were—especially the vegetable dishes cooked in coconut milk. Every meal felt nourishing and thoughtful. I especially loved the walking paths through the mangrove forest and the quiet waterside scenery. Even without joining any water activities, I felt deeply connected to the nature around me. The staff were warm, respectful, and never intrusive—just quietly attentive, which made the experience even more relaxing. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, reset, and reconnect with yourself, I highly recommend Eskapo Verde. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place to breathe. I hope to return again someday.

My second time here, in total I have had seventeen wonderful day and nights at this beautiful eco lodge. If you like peace and quiet, sound of birds, living in the midst of mangroves, solid cottages, wonderful food and kind people, well this is where to go.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at this stunning location, and it was truly unforgettable. Despite some initial difficulties caused by the taxi, the owners immediately stepped in and resolved the issue with great care. Here, you’ll be completely immersed in nature, staying in beautifully crafted wooden and bamboo cottages. Just a few kilometers away, you can enjoy exciting activities like skydiving, and in the morning, you’ll even have the chance to watch sea turtles. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

After a disappointing experience with a previous apartment booking in Moalboal, which forced us to leave after two unpleasant nights, we were incredibly lucky to come across the peaceful Eskapoverde Lodge. From the moment we arrived, Alain and Simon greeted us warmly, making us feel truly at home and welcome. The lodge is perched in a unique and beautiful spot, offering breathtaking views. The cottages are thoughtfully designed—simple yet practical. Although not large, they provide plenty of room to store luggage and create a cozy, comfortable space. The windows are all equipped with mosquito nets, allowing fresh air to flow freely. This natural ventilation means there’s no need for air conditioning. Breakfast is a real highlight, and for those who love bacon, you’re in for a treat—it’s perfectly cooked and highly recommended! A huge thank you to Alain and Simon for such a delightful stay. We’re already looking forward to returning to this tranquil retreat.
