Palace Hotel San Michele

Mieszkaliśmy w apartamencie - części wypoczynkowej z sofą i krzesłem pomiędzy drzwiami a sypialnią. Ładnie urządzony. Nie korzystaliśmy z basenu ani spa. Na patio znajduje się przyjemny bar ze stolikami na świeżym powietrzu, z widokiem na Adriatyk. Stoły śniadaniowe znajdują się na tym samym patio. Hotelowa restauracja była świetną ofertą - 25 euro za makaron, danie główne, contorno i deser. Jestem pewien, że to najlepsza opcja w Monte Sant'Angelo, uroczym miejscu na pobyt w Gargano.

Hotel był genialny, a lokalizacja genialna. Jedynym minusem było to, że chcieliśmy zostać jeszcze jedną noc i dali nam cenę, a następnego ranka podnieśli cenę i nie byli pomocni, więc wyszliśmy trochę rozczarowani, ale miłe miejsce

Średnia dla „wybitnej” turystyki masowej. Zdrowa lokalizacja, źle wyposażony personel, średnia kolacja i śniadanie w ramach turystyki masowej, zawyżone ceny dla „wędrownego włóczęgi”. Wytchnienie w ostatniej chwili, dobry spacer po wzgórzu, zdumiewające widoki, wyjazd wcześnie rano. Stacja „siły wyższej” na majestatycznym wzgórzu niedaleko Bari. Warto odwiedzić po wcześniejszym umówieniu pobytu.

Room was spacious and air conditioning worked well. Hotel was a little dated and towels were like tablecloths. Pool was nice and access to beach chairs and umbrella was a bonus.

This hotel is beautifully situated at the highest point of Monte SantʼAngelo. The view on the coastline of Puglia is truly gorgeous. You can feel that this hotel used to be very chic and full of grandeur, but nowadays it exudes faded glory. Everything feels a bit dated and the rooms could use a make-over. The shower for example is so very small, that I can't imagine how a bigger person could fit into it. The towels were more akin to bed sheets, very thin and not soft at all. The room was clean and the airco works very well. We were shocked to find that the little water bottles in the mini fridge were not complementary, but would cost us two euros. The wifi is very slow. We had dinner once in the restaurant of the hotel. The food was good, but not exceptional. The service should really be better though. Again: everything looked very chic, but the service wasn't attentive at all. For example: we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and the waiter did not bring us a wine cooler for the bottle. They took away my cutlery after I finished the first course and just forgot to bring me new cutlery for my main dish. Since nobody noticed me signing for attention, I had to take cutlery from a table next to me to eat my food. We also used the wellness. At first glance everything looked very beautiful, but quickly we noticed that a lot of functionalities just didn't work and some of the small tiles in the swimming pool had come loose en just lay around on the bottom of the swimming pool. The breakfast buffet had lots of options to choose from. The system was not efficient however. You had to queue and ask the staff for what you wanted to eat. I noticed a big language barrier when the guests tried to communicate with the staff. Most of the staff could not speak English. The view from the breakfast room is excellent. The hotel has a lot of parking space and a beautiful swimming pool with a splendid view. The hotel also offers the possibility to visit a private beach, a twenty minutes drive from the hotel. I recommend visiting the beach, which is very nice.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and roomy and the bed comfortable and A/C worked well. Price of room was a bit high though, especially since there were no amenities like soap or shampoo or regular towels in the bathroom. (The towels that were available looked more like linens.) The faucet was leaking but the bathroom was far enough from where we slept that the dripping didn't bother us. We didn't want to come off as complaining Americans so we didn't report any of these things to the front desk. It would have been nice -- since the price of the room was so high -- to have a coffee maker in the room for coffee in the AM. The breakfast that came with booking the room was awesome though. Location is nice - close to the castle and sanctuary and the charming town. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the spa and were surprised that we would be charged for towels to go to the pool with so we didn't go. 🙁Again, for the price we paid, shouldn't bathroom and pool towels be included? We think so. We slept good the first night; the second night, there seemed to be lots of activity in the early hours of AM (Monday night) and we kept hearing sounds like our door clicking (maybe from air moving through area in hallway?). Air-conditioning was of utmost importance since we visited in August and our room met the expectations where this was concerned. We were shown how to use the TV when we first checked in but couldn't manage to get it to work afterward.

A beautiful and old world charming hotel in a fantastic setting. Monte Santangelo is filled with history, amazing food and culture, and is genuinely off the tourist trail. A hidden gem for anyone seeking a peaceful holiday in Puglia!

The hotel is comfortable though it could use an update. The WiFi had some issues but they are working to correct it. The staff was excellent! Helpful and friendly. They are still using COVID protocols for public areas. The views are amazing and you have access to the whole Gargano penalty from here. Provided you don’t mind driving the twisted roads.
