This is a very spot, an old communal wine cellar that's been converted to a large winery and boutique hotel located at the bottom of the hill from Motovun. I was disappointed as I booked a wine getaway package that included wine tasting for two, parking and a bottle of wine only to realize that it would have been cheaper to book the room only and then just add the winery tour at the inn. More on that later. The property is beautiful, unique and quirky. There is an underground garage that access by a giant car elevator so things are different before you even get to your room! We had a valley view room with a king sized bed, the bed was on a raise platform which was kind of cool. The view from our window was gorgeous but it's a very small window and there's only one so I wouldn't bother pay extra for a view room. You really have to be standing right in front of the window to see the view. Other than that the room was comfortable but small, ditto for the bathroom. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights. We'd added the half board option while booking which I wouldn't recommend as it's the exact same price as on the menu and it means you have to take the set course menu. We were able to remove that for the second night which was good as the set menu was exactly the same both nights. The food was decent but not memorable. Breakfast was delicious though, a buffet but good quality and variety including sparking wine. The hotel is a short but steep walk up the hill to Motovun and not too far from Rovinj. There's also many other charming towns a close drive away and the beautiful caves of Slovenia are only an hour away so location is very good. We really enjoyed our wine tour, the sommelier was knowledgable, funny and friendly and you get to tour several levels of their cellars and have a delicious and generous tasting at the end paired with canapes. Note that you can purchase the tour at the hotel for 43 Euros a person. Our package included the tour for two, parking and a bottle of wine which turned out to be a bottle of rose which they sell for 20 Euros a bottle. It would have been about 50 Euros cheaper to book everything separately which seems unfair. If you're considering a stay I'd highly recommend just booking the room and not a package.

Overall, the hotel is very nice with a veranda , where food and drinks are served, that overlooks the rolling hills with many vineyards. It is a beautiful view. Their wine is good and the winery is on site for a fun tour. It is a nice hotel with great staff who are very helpful. The walk isn’t far to take the shuttle up to Motovun Old Town with great view, shops and restaurants. The restaurant with ‘Mondo’ in its name is excellent! Breakfast was good with fruit, oatmeal/cereal, meats, eggs, bread and other options. When thunderstorms hit, they are violent and something to take cover from as the rain is torrential. Wow! As far as the rooms, our group commented on the many quirks like mirrors above the beds, stools needed to reach the beds and ours was the most unique and not for us. I did select it as an upgrade, but it was a mistake. The bed is three feet off the floor with a complete leather siding. While you can roll out of it, the switches aren’t easy to access or the window coverings at the back. It says an amenity is a safe, there wasn’t one. Plus it had some traffic noise so request a room overlooking the vineyard.

We came here to enjoy the sunset over a glass of wine, but we got much more than that. It was a 5 star sunset experience at the marvelous terrace, accompanied with good food and wine, and very professional staff. The waiter was pleasant and educated about their wines, and he recommended a bottle of Rovigno paired with a cold platter. We recommend you try the homemade prosciutto. You will not regret it. We will definitely come back and try other dishes and wines. 🍷🌅

Oct 21st - Sunday 2pm: We arrived (4 of us) to have a glass of wine and a coffee on the wonderful terrace with a marvellous view. The young waitress was very friendly, after we asked her if we could just have a drink at one the tables already having a couvert, she said - no problem. Two minutes after that the gentleman (obviously the chef) came out explaining to us, that this is not possible, that we are "taking away" place for guests wanting to have lunch - but obnoxiously he said -now you are already here so... Fact is, that the whole terrace was empty, only inside there was a group of some 15 people having lunch. But ok - we decided to stay. Unfortunately I went to the wine shop to see which wine we could buy - hearing - accidentally - how he abused her, saying "I lost an excellent tip from Italians, this is not ok". After hearing this comment, we just left. This gentleman came out asking us why and I told him that this is the best way to lose good customers. So far so bad! With this posting, I just want to alert the owner of ths wonderful hotel & winery (by the way we LOVE Roxanich wines!!) Best regards Igor Rup

wow, it was a great pleasure to come here. We are delighted and we are coming back again. Everything is so wonderful. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are extremely clean. the food is superb. There is something for everyone on the menu. 😍😍😍😍
