Overall, I felt the hotel was very nicely done with great local touches while still keeping an international atmosphere. I also wanted to point out the great flexibility of the hotel, allowing me to change my meal reservations from 3 dinners at Elements (I was on a package deal) to one at Elements and combining the remaining two meals at Elements to a dinner at Atelier. This allowed me to not have to dine at the same restaurant as well as opening up a slot for me to explore a local restaurant. However, there were two things that I'd like to point out that the hotel can improve upon. The first is the staffing at the club lounge (and in general) is not enough. There were many moments where I was left to wait, to the point where using standard facilities (like the check-in counter, or breakfast at Elements) would have been a more positive experience. Breakfast on 12/21 was where the understaffing really showed, where it took over an hour to complete breakfast; many guests left in the middle of their meal since service was horribly slow. However, the second point us what I would really want the hotel to work on - CoVID countermeasures. Largely, two things I'd like to point out. (1) Temperature screening us inconsistent. I was checked when I first arrived, but never anytime afterwards (or should I say, the thermometer station was unmanned). (2) During my meal at Atelier, my wife and I noticed that the staff (He was Italian, I think his name is Marco?) preparing the dishes (in the open kitchen) prepping a sauce, tasting it with the same spoon which was quickly rinsed it under the faucet and returned into the mixing bowl. I pointed this out to one of the servers (Japanese male, responsible for serving and explaining the dishes). This is where I felt the hotel can improve on - in detail, three things. (i) The Japanese server proceeded to quietly scold the staff in front of me, I felt that was not a great experience both for myself and the staff. (ii) Nothing was cleared. After the scolding (and then the staff responding back that he did not put the spoon back in) none of the utensils were changed and no follow up. I guess there is no trust in what a customer points out. And finally (iii) I felt that this is at the fault of the hotel for not putting in proper operation guidelines.A person putting together a meal will need to taste it, to make sure it's good. If the hotel were to put in operational guidelines to ensure tasting can be done while still making it very obvious that it is hygienic, I would not have to be writing this email. Needless to say, our dinner experience was ruined that night. I actually shared the above comment with IHG Guest Relations (on 25 Dec), which the agent was extremely prompt on getting back to me and assured that I would get a response back from the hotel about it within 48 hours. I made a reservation at a low price because it was under construction, but construction on the large public bathhouse was completed the day before the day of arrival, so it was nice that men and women could use the bathtubs alternately. There was a parking space, but it was impossible to park because everyone left their cars empty at night. There was a smell characteristic of a tatami room, but I got used to it in less than an hour. The view was nice, and you could hear the sound of motorcycles briefly at night. Best of all, breakfast was available for this price, so I ate two plates. The Japanese set menu is delicious. There are a lot of employees, so the response is quick.

It was so friendly and the food was delicious! The facilities were so good and the view was amazing. However, since room service is not available, it is better to prepare snacks in advance when entering the hotel. To go to the convenience store, you need to drive for about 5 minutes. The taxi called immediately when asked by the counter, so there was no inconvenience in moving. I want to use this hotel again when I go to Beppu area

The teppanyaki dinner at Shenheen was delicious. Everything was perfect, especially the Japanese hands. The room was large and equipped with a bath, which was very comfortable. The hotel has a shuttle service to and from Beppu Station. After checking into the hotel, it is very convenient to visit popular attractions such as Umi Jigoku.

This hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the JR Beppu station. It is easy to find as you just walk towards the seaside until you see the Beppu Tower beside a main road, the hotel is behind it. There is a 7-11 beside the tower, and a bus stop in front of the tower, so is quite convenient. If you take the bus to visit the 7 Beppu Hells starting from the JR station and follow the sequence, i.e. Chinoike and Tatsumaki Jigokus as the last two hells, and you take the bus towards the Beppu station, you can stop directly in front of the tower, this complete a full circle of your Beppu Hell tour. I booked a seaview Japanese room and the view is great. The room is also spacious for Japanese ryokan standard. There is some minor renovation and furniture replacement done, so the room is a mixture of new and worn. There are two onsen baths in this hotel: one at the top floor, an open air onsen bath and one at third floor, which is an indoor onsen bath. The dinner and breakfast are both average though. Overall, I am quite happy with my stay here.

It is good sense when I am flowing BGM with analog records at the front desk. And Tatsuo Yamashita's ride on time is too good sense. The photograph is the lounge on the 10th floor, but you can use the space freely while listening to analog records. I can't go back and forth between baths, but the inner bath is also the best. The breakfast was delicious and I was able to start the day with the best feeling. The parking lot is large and easy to stop, and the price is reasonable for the sightseeing spot and the volume is quite good. It was a hotel that was easy to use for business, couples and families on any layer. I would like to stay again.

The hotel's service is very good. We stayed for 3 nights including breakfast and dinner. The restaurant is excellent. It's super delicious. The beef is excellent and the special order service is also excellent. The shabu shabu service was fantastic and the whole family was satisfied. However, additional fees apply for children regarding restaurant use and lodging. I paid an additional 570,000 won and was angry on the first day, but I calmed down after dinner. It's such a great restaurant and service. The location is near Beppu IC and there are family baths nearby, so there are many places to go nearby. Safari is close and the ropeway is close as well. Renting a car is essential and public transportation is difficult. This lodging is worth recommending just for the snow crab and beef alone.

While the Rugby World Cup was on the rise, I went to Oita Prefecture for work, and in Beppu, I used the price near the station. Until I arrived, I didn't know that the Rugby World Cup was being done in Oita. The hotel is close to the station, there are many restaurants and convenient location. The hotel is old, but there are hot springs and sauna, and it is an environment that is sufficiently satisfactory even for business use. In the morning, I was grateful for the free service of a drink at the cup drink vending machine in front of the front desk.

This was bolt hole no.1 on our Rugby World Cup weekend, it was a good choice! I had already booked a nights stay here on the Saturday of England's rugby QF v Australia. We hastily arranged a Friday stay when it became clear commuting from Fukuoka to Beppu was going to be a major issue on match say. Turned out a great plan! So 2 nights, we enjoyed the Spa which me and my wife made full use of. The outdoor baths range in temperatures and size. At the time we stayed there, it was the chosen bolt hole of many a rugby newspaper hack! There was Messrs S Jones and M Cleary of the broad sheets and M Samuels of the Mail, amongst others. We also had rugby correspondents from Sky Sports news. Funny choice since Oita is quite a commute from that hotel. Anyway, I digress. Hotel rooms are plain but comfortable plus large enough. Walk in showers and breakfast had a wide selection. Friendly staff but an odd gown and slippers rule (not strictly enforced, just as well as slippers were too small as were garments). For both nights, we enjoyed drinks in their basic lounge area. Beers were purchased from a vending machine. Usual fayre of Asahi type later, not great but ok. The place is up in the mountains about a 20 min bus ride from Beppu Station. We ate in the evening in Beppu, plenty of choices. All in all, a fun stay.

It's a small inn with 2 to 30 rooms.Is it difficult to renovate? The large public bath felt quite old, and the atmosphere of the room was somewhat old-fashioned. In addition, the overall cleaning was thorough and I was able to spend a comfortable time. I had a double main dish of hell steamed and steak. Also, the free beer, orange juice, and coffee service in the break room was great. During the corona crisis, we stayed overnight on a Sunday, but the number of customers seemed to be about 25%, and the number of employees was the minimum number, so it was quiet. P.S. Pola's Kalahari was in the room's amenities, and Pola's Aroma Esse and Shiseido's skin care products were placed in the dressing room of the large public bath.
