The Brigadiers Cottage, Mussoorie

We stayed at the Brigadier's cottage in April 2024. We absolutely loved our stay and the highlight of our trip turned out to be meeting the hosts Mr.Aseem and Mrs.Neetu and their wonderful daughter. The rooms were spacious and our twin boys had a blast. They arranged everything we needed, taxi, trek guide, airport pickup, extra cots and what not! The cottage is far away from the bustling and touristy centre town of mussourie. The nature in Kempty is to wake up for! The morning birds were a delight at the cottage, the geese, cows and the two lovely dogs were a bonus! If you love art, Mrs.Neetu is the one to talk to you, she is a gracious host and a talented artist. On the other hand, I wish I had extra time to finish seeing Mr.Aseem's family heirlooms aesthetically scattered around the property. He is an absolute delight to talk to and both of them made our stay extra special. Loved our conversations with the family! As for the things we did in mussourie. We went for a trek, found a beautiful waterfall, walked around mussourie town, did a day trip to landour, to corn village, and also caught the sun rise at yamuna. The staff at the property are quick to offer help when required. Menus were handpicked by Mrs.Neetu keeping the guests in mind and they also tailored it our specific needs. Brigadier's cottage is hands down our best time this year! If you're looking for something to make you feel at home, this is the place to come to. Also, when you're there do ask Mr. Aseem why Kempty is named Kempty!

Located in Kempty (20 mins drive from Mussoorie). Situated in valley, surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills. Food was tasty (homemade Pickle a must try😋). The staff members were attentive (prompt service by Ravi & other staff members). The property has been beautifully designed by Neetu. The welcoming personality of Aseem keeps you engaged in any discussion. Grateful to Neetu & Aseem for making our stay memorable. Must visit place for serenity & peace.

Thank you Neetu and Aseem for the amazing stay at Brigadier’s cottage. The food and hospitality was excellent. The online pictures of the place are genuine and exactly the same. I loved the view from the rooms and terrace. The barbecue dinner was another plus point

We stayed here for 3 days and had the most wonderful time at the property ! The whole familythoroughly enjoyed it and have taken fond memories back with us ! We have withdrawal symptoms now 😂. The whole team, Ravi bhaiya, Nirmala didi, Suresh ,Pandeyji and others took care of us like family. Especial mention to gardener bhaiya, for giving me the small pudina plant which now is in my garden. Our pet, Simba thoroughly enjoyed with Navya and Ayush . He made friends there 🤓. Appreciate all the efforts taken by Aseem sir,Neetu Maam and Ayesha ! We do hope to come back soon and chill with Chia and Chi Chi again ! 😀🙂

We stayed at The Brigadier’s Cottage for 4 days in April, and our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The biggest advantage of this place is its location. It is just 30 minutes from Mussoorie’s Mall Road and is very close to the famed Kempty Falls. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Mussoorie, yet accessible to all major tourist spots in the city. The owners are very friendly and ready to help out with anything you may need, including suggesting plans and excursions for the day. The rooms are well-designed, and they look exactly the same as the photos shown on their website. What you see is what you get. The views from the balcony are absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed sipping a hot beverage in the morning while taking in the lovely views. The bathrooms are well-equipped with all the toiletries you could possibly need. The rooms are spacious and have enough charging points for your phones and iPads. The owners have pet dogs as well as geese, cows, and a hen coop on the property, and my toddler enjoyed playing with the dogs here. This is a pet-friendly place, so you can bring your own pets as well. We had our breakfast and dinner here, and the meals were lovely. Keep in mind that this is a homestay and do not expect a five-star spread, but we found the options and variety to be more than adequate. We had four dinners here, and nothing was repetitive. The food itself was delicious. They also provide limited evening snacks on an à la carte basis, and we tried and liked all of them. Finally, the staff is incredibly helpful, and all of them are incredibly responsive to whatever you may need. We coordinated with Ravi, and no request was too big for him. He always ***aged to deliver with a smile on his face. If you are looking for a five-star hotel, this might not be the place for you. But if you are looking for a luxurious homestay with lovely views and pets as your friends, I would highly recommend The Brigadier’s Cottage.

Perfect place to stay in Mussoorie, if you want to enjoy your vacation away from hustle and bustle of city life. Staff who work here were extremely cordial; anything we needed was a call away. Our 8 years old daughter enjoyed a lot and was extremely happy to stay here; she found new friends and thoroughly enjoyed the place. We would love to come back here again.

We were there for 3 nights and are delighted to share this feedback. Location is peaceful, quiet and serene. Just walking distance from kempty falls and we could really hear the sound of water flowing nearby. The room and property is as visible in pictures here, we were in luxury room and it was very comfortable and beautifully done. Our hosts were amazingly friendly and warm, thanks much to Neetu and Aseem for ensuring every little detail of our stay was as per our preference. Much thanks to the cook who took pains to provide 1 portion without chillies in every meal.

We stayed at The Brigadier's Cottage for 2 nights as a family of three. It is a lovely homestay run by a very warm and fun-loving couple - Neetu and Aseem Varma. The property is at a stunning location, in the midst of hills and one can hear a brook flowing nearby. The Varmas, ***** with their staff take excellent care of you - right from the comfortable rooms, to the adorable animals (special mention to their lovable pet dogs Chichi and Chia), to the delicious food served with love. I also highly recommend a trek to the village nearby called Sainji, where one can explore the remote beauty and enjoy the friendliness of the people there. All in all, a very wholesome experience, filled with great memories for our family. I can safely say that we will return there soon, and often!

Our stay in Brigadier's cottage was a great experience right in the midst of nature. Host Neetu and Aseem are wonderful people. They are ***aging this property like the piece of their heart. The staff here is very polite and took very good care of everything. The food served here is so yummy. My kids enjoyed barbeque and bonfire organised by Aseem on special request. Highly recommend this place and would love to stay here again whenever I will visit Mussoorie.
