We went to Egypt . With family we went to this hotel. The service was very bad. The rooms were dirty. Water was dirty. The women in the reception can’t speak English. It’s smell of poo. Never use this hotel. Never thought that will happen. With family.

AVOID THIS HOTEL at all cost. If the hotel offers £1 a night, it still won’t be worth it. From having blood on the pillow to blood on bedsheets to the bed cover smelling of bio. The toilet being dirty to having the toilet and shower together. Lying staff and even worse rude and lying manager who wasn’t bothered to help. When we made the complaint, the manager said he will give 50% discount but he wanted us to withdraw our complain and when we did, he didn’t give our money and instead lied and said we never paid for the 3 nights we stayed for. And to make everything clear it wasn’t one room we had, it was four and I don’t really know which one was worse from the 4 rooms we had!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE avoid this fake lying hotel and its staff!!!!!

Great location for the pyramids. A 45 minute drive from Cairo airport. It’s basic but serves the purpose, is clean and is good value. The rooms vary in layout as we didn’t have an outside window but my sons other room did. Great views of the pyramids and sphinx from the roof terrace. All the staff were very helpful and courteous.

We arrived at the Horus Hotel at 2am in the morning and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. Our room was clean, tidy, secure, safe and the view of the pyramids was something we will never forget . We wanted to see the old Cairo and with 🐎 horses 🐫 camels going past the front door of the hotel it was so different and great to see . The manager Taha was so professional nothing was too much trouble a lot of big city hotel managers could take a lesson from him ,and he treated staff with respect the hotel atmosphere was always friendly and happy 😊. The roof top area either for breakfast , dinner or just a drink was just superb the view of the pyramids could not be bettered . The light show and the sunsets from the Horus Hotel rooftop were worth the accommodation cost . We also were offered Egyptian prints from the manager Taha and they are just such a treasured Egyptian artefact for us to treasure. Our stay at the Horus Hotel was just never boring and full of surprises we would love to return at some stage ...

Rooftop view of pyramids. Staff is extremely friendly, proficient in English. They can book tours for you at the front desk. Staff won’t accept tips for carrying luggage, cleaning room etc… Yes, the rooms need updating, but it’s good value for the price you pay. Gift shop on premises offers discount to guests. Walkable to dozens of restaurants. Best rooftop view (you can save money by watching the nightly pyramid show from the roof).

overall worth considering. maitre’d and his staff extremely helpful and friendly. manager/owner not very helpful. room clean though minor maintenance needed in bathroom with water leaks. ensure your booking has EXTERNAL view or view is to internal staircase.

Expect less than you see on their website but you do pay up front in dollars. Close to pyramids and GEM not open except lobby. Nice breakfast and dinner. Options pretty limited but view stunning. Steep stairs and wifi in and out. Otherwise ok.

Great little surprise to find. I will return for sure. Hospitality can not be beat. Clean, safe and friendly. Professional. Museum next door. Gift shop. 24/7 reception Loved it. Location Location Location Pyramids and Sphinx are so close, no camel needed. But in case you want one, just ask!
