Asia looking reception was very very bad service!

There is construction going on however, they didn’t stop me from finding the hotel. The front desk was friendly and great for solo travelers.

When you arrive don’t be scared of the lobby- it looks a bit shabby but once you get to your room for the price point and location - we found it super clean which is #1 - location to the pier for cruising #2- friendly desk folks - comfy beds - bare bones but again for 1-2 nights - best value! Oh by the way- if they offer you the 4 floor you will be tempted for the view- we are seniors - NO ELEVATOR!! Take the 2 or know you are in for a goat trip !!

The location is the best thing about this hotel, just one block away from Penn Station. On the other hand, I was never given the remote control of the TV and when I requested it the guy at the night shift was somewhat rude and unprofessional.

Stayed there for 4 nights; many of the reviews here are fair. My experience - Pros 1. central location; right next to penn station, and madison square garden, can walk anywhere, either south to Soho, to East village, up north to time square or west to hudson river; 2. the staff was very pleasant - they won't be able to do much; but was pleasant and polite the whole time I was there; 3. better than a hostel - got your own privacy - own bedroom and bathroom; Cons - 1. noise level - it is VERY noisy from both inside and outside; the walls are paper thin, so anything next door (snoring), or people walking in the halls, you will be able to hear it; and lots of sirens, honking outside at all hours; so light sleepers beware; 2. very small - felt claustrophobic; just a single/twin bed and limited space to do much; there was a TV; the bathroom sink was so small, no room to put anything, everything like contact lenses, toothbrushes, paste, etc, must be placed on a shelf on top of the toilet (afraid of stuff falling down into the toilet while moving about); The cleanliness of the room was adequate - the floor was sticky, felt wet, but decent condition otherwise; they came in and switched out the linens and towels once without asking in the four days there. Overall, if you are planning on being out in the city for the majority of the day, don't mind the noise for a short stay, and own bed / bathroom is important for you, and know that you get what you paid for, go for it!

The room was good compared to the price. The location was fantastic. The level of cleanliness could have been better. There were signs of dust more than one place.

Some lady from the staff was horrible. Poor condition of the room and the bad manners from at least 2 of the staff. I was so happy with the place before I arrived, but not anymore. Ask for my check out document the lady from the staff never email it to me. Horrible service.

The location in very center and near the Madison square garden. The bathroom is quite small and it had a small sink. There was mold is the bathroom ceiling. The room smell like someone smoke on it. For the price, I think you can get a better hotel in the city…
