My wife and family went to the Grapes for Christmas lunch. The food and attention to detail was fantastic. Ethan, Stuart and Josh were outstanding waiters. I would highly recommend the Grapes restaurant.

Booked a table for two. Dining room very busy with festive dinners but we were accomodated in the bar area with a very decent menu to choose from. Service was swift and efficient. The food was piping hot and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our main and desserts. This is our second visit (we live a few miles away), and each time, it gets better.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals and drinks over a long weekend in Newcastleton. Steve and Co made us very welcome, even though it was a very busy weekend for them, due to a motorsport rally in the area. Lovely fresh food all served at a suitable pace, given the busyness.

We spent great night at the Grapes as part of our cross border bike ride. The accommodation was really comfortable and the food was varied and appetising. Thank you to the staff for the welcome we received. Harold & Anne Edwards

Went out with friends for Curry night. We were definitely very pleased, food was amazing, friendly efficient service from all staff. New owners are making a real good go of it and always a very warm welcome. Bring on the next themed night. well done team Grapes, always a pleasure to visit.

We stumbled upon this place by accident after a long bike ride, and ended up staying for food, drink and for the night. The staff and service were great, food was amazing, room was lovely and comfy, and the continental breakfast delivered to your room in the morning was fantastic! So glad we found this place, well definitely be back!

I called into the Grapes just after 6:30 on a Sunday night. I got a beer at the bar and asked if they we doing to. The barman said yes and told me to take a seat at a table. After about 15 mins he eventually brought me a menu. A further 25 mins passed and still nobody had taken my order. I eventually went to the bar to pay for my drink and leave, the barman was apologetic and told me that the kitchen and serving staff were busy doing takeaways. I paid for the beer and left. Seems this place isn’t really interested in serving customers who actually sit at a table but prefer to prioritise preparing takeaway food.

Return visit to The Grapes and new pwners are delightful Excellent menu with a special mention for the Cullen Skink New owners are starting major upgrades to the rooms which I'm sure will be up to the high standard they have started with

Lovely meal with great service. We were staying in the campsite in the village for two nights. The haggis bonbons were delicious and the ribeye steak from the local butcher was perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.
