Wecamp Cabo de Gata

We stayed here for three nights in mid jan 24. The location is remote and the site accessed along a narrow road. It was ok in our 7M Motorhome. We were shown to a deluxe pitch. It was smaller than the info suggested and next to some long term campers who had begun to make the area look like a shanty town. At our request we were moved but onto an even tighter plot. Apart from this the staff were generally helpful and the facilities clean and modern. The shop was open infrequently and the pool and restaurant closed. Ongoing building work did not impact upon us. Access to the beach and neighbouring village are easy from site. There are lovely walks across the hills and cliffs to neighbouring bays.

It’s the second time we have been here in our Motorhome and we will keep going back too! We stayed just the 3 nights this time but it was a lovely experience all round. We were there before the rush of the summer vacationers so it was a little quiet. The pitches are ample but not the largest you will find - but for the 2 of us in a 7m unit its big enough. Orientation means you can easily create a private sitting area and shade from the fierce sun in the middle of the day - that is of you are not down at the beach or at the well presented swimming pool. The restaurant is open pretty much all year I believe and although its not an extensive menu it caters for most things and was good value as you would expect in this region. The quaint little seafront village of Las Negras is 10 minutes on a bike or a 20 minute walk and has a few cafes, bars, supermarkets. Prices are reasonable at the site and it looks like they were redeveloping their shop while we were there so there wasn’t one on site although we always try to arrive at a site quite well prepared anyway. Overall I give it 4.5 as there are a few things we find better on a site i would rate as 5 but its pretty near perfect. One thing I would like to see at more sites in the hotter months is an option for a cooler shower - its hot or nothing - but the same at pretty much all places you go to but maybe more sites should have a cool outdoor shower for people like me! Anyway I digress… we love it and will be back at the next opportunity…. Thanks @wecamp

Arrived at campsite to be told no tents allowed. Absolutely ridiculous being as it's a campsite. It would be helpful if they wrote on there website that no tents allowed. Complete waste of our time grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .......................................................................

Stayed with our 7 metre Motorhome end of September 2021. Unfortunately not long before there had been a pretty terrible storm though we were at that time further south and did not experience it. As a result the pool had been flooded with water and debris and was shut down full of dirt.The beach was also decimated by floodwater and was not really useable. The sea was still rough. The access to this pretty little campsite is via a small truck from the town around the hill / mountainside with not much passing space, though most of it is made up. The pitches are nice but generally only good for small Motorhomes or campers and the scaffold awnings only 2.7 m high.It was quiet so we able to use an end of row pitch which was clear of the cover so it worked ok,but not many of those. I am sure when everything is working ok it is a delightful place to stay. It’s a bit of a track from the motorway so not being able to have a swim with temps in the very high 20’s was disappointing but I guess not their fault. Everything else ok and the receptionist charming with pretty good English. Ring fist though!

I had made a reservation for 2 nights with a fridge and requested to be on a pitch near to the beach and amenities as my partner had a foot injury. It was as though I had not made this booking when talking to the reception who asked us,is it just the one night? Do you want electricity? We were assigned a pitch at the mountain end of the campsite and told the beach end was very busy. I insisted and was assigned a pitch near the beach,an area that as it turns out had lots of free spaces! But not the number we were assigned,it was occupied. Eventually we were able to use the pitch assigned and our fridge was delivered. Only to be asked to move again as only certain pitches have access to electricity and asked why we didn’t bring an extension lead for this or would we like to purchase one! The caretaker then kindly lent us his for the duration of the stay after we refused all other options. The organization here for what is in the summer a very busy campsite needs to be improved our arrival afternoon was tainted by the incompetence of the staff. The on-site restaurant however is amazing,the food is delicious and the staff friendly,welcoming and attentive.

Todo maravilloso. Recomendable 100% Fuimos con caravana tres noches, todo perfecto, baños y duchas muy limpios, todo el recinto muy cuidado, mucha sombra en las parcelas. La playa estaba muy cerquita, el bar de la piscina está genial calidad/precio. Las personas de recepción , limpieza y mantenimiento genial. Situado muy cerca del pueblo las Negras como para ir andando. Como únicas pegas, la segunda piscina estaba cerrada y la que había como es normal estaba llena de niños. Y el agua de los grifos del lavabo se corta demasiado rápido y complicado usarlos pq estas sin parar de dar al botón. Volveremos seguro !!!

Lugar recóndito ideal para relajarse. Hemos ido dos años seguidos en los bungalows.Todo nuevo. Por poner un pero el restaurante tiene la carta muy corta y algo cara para lo que ofrecen. Tiene salida directa a una cala, a senderos. Si te gusta disfrutar con tranquilidad este es tu lugar

Nos hemos alojado 4 noches con glamping familiar y fue una experiencia estupenda. Camping completo, cerca de todo. Personal muy acogedor sobre todo a Patricia. Gracias por todas tus recomendaciones. Nos vamos super contentos! Y volveremos a alojarnos en otro sitios de wecamp sin duda!

Goede ontvangst zeer vriendelijk. Schoon sanitair, aan kleine baai waar je met hond kan zwemmen. Restaurant bij camping, wij handden een grote plaats. Smalle bergweg om bij camping te komen was wel spannend. Al met al top!!
