Even though it was the rainy season and the place was undergoing a fair amount of maintenance, it had a good buzz and excellent amenities. Amazing pool, lovely water quality.. the route to the beach was an arduous trek as the signposting is poor so we could not find our way easily there and back. A tough place to stay for any length of time without a vehicle of some sort..

Vele thema's in de disco waarvan we de salsa hebben ervaren...tot 02u00 's nacht luide muziek en dronkelui die roepen. Vanaf 5u30 druk verkeer (scooters, camions). Om 1u00 gaan klagen ... niets gebeurd. Dag erna geen oplossing... MANAGEMENT ergens achter de schermen klantonwaardige instructies maar zelf de confrontatie niet aandurven. Uiteindelijk andere kamer na VEEL discussie. Beloofde compensatie uiteindelijk maar voor helft terugbetaald. Om dan nog maar te zwijgen van hygiëne, hangbuikvarken loopt vrij rond in het hotel en PAS OP want anders trap je in de uitwerpselen

Was here for the salsa even and my girlfriend order a Margarita for $10 and they serve her the worse margarita ever. But honestly i don’t know why i was expecting something better if cocktail here really suck, #respecfully come on, y’all have money, do better

This review is just to say we got bed bugs after staying in a private room. We tried to speak with the hotel but it is quite tricky to prove and they denied it. The front desk staff were actually kind but were unable to do anything or acknowledge it without support from their boss. His bites were in the classic “breakfast, lunch and dinner” pattern all over his body. This review is just to send caution/warn others before booking.

Salsa knight was a blast! My friends and I didn’t know a single step and went in blind. The guy hosting/dj, Yelle, was super patient and helpful, as we stumbled all over ourselves. Highly recommend this!

I had a great time at the Wednesday night salsa class at this Selina. Yelle was a really good teacher and taught all the dance steps very well. He made the class fun and inviting even for first-timers. You can tell from learning from him that he knows his stuff. I’d definitely come back for the salsa night. It was a lot of fun!

This was the worst Selina location I’ve been to (and I just came from la fortuna, which was lovely). Where do I even begin… 1) check in was awful. The front desk is not friendly at all and it is not a welcoming environment. Nobody looks you in the eye and does not care whether you have a great stay or not. 2) no hot water for DAYS. Multiple people have shared they haven’t had hot water either - when I asked about it, they finally turned on the water heater. Not sure why it was off to begin with. Water is still cold unfortunately. 3) Air conditioning is poor. All the rooms are set at 17 C/62 F but it does not feel cool at all - seems to be bad all over this location. 4) NOISY. Even when you’re paying for deluxe/premium suites, they are located right by the main road so it is LOUD. My room was directly above the pig’s “house” so I also got to hear loud snoring in the middle of the night, on top of loud street noises. 5) contacting them via WhatsApp means your message will be ignored- have to follow up constantly or check at the front desk in person. 6) rooms are dirty. They don’t clean the floors and there’s dust everywhere. Also had a cockroach in the bathroom. 7) FAR from the beach and it’s not a safe walking distance as you have to be on the main road. Lots of dirt/dust/smog the whole walk. 8) slow service at the patio restaurant/bar. Expect to wait forever to order, for your food to arrive, and to pay for the check. 9) no safety measures and good luck getting any first aid. Needed a band aid and was told they don’t have any! 10) constant construction so amenities are not fully available at this location. For the first half of my stay, the “rooftop deck” was unavailable and parts of the main pool are empty/under construction. Don’t come here. The staff is really unfriendly, you won’t get any sleep, and there are FAR better places to stay near the beach that are similarly priced (especially if you are paying for a private room here). I was told the General Manager would reach out to me to personally alleviate a lot of my concerns but nobody has reached out.

Great place to stay, lots of wellness activities, good restaurant, pools and friendly, helpful staff. We’re glad we chose to add the breakfast option to our stay, excellent options available and self-serve coffee in the morning starting at 7am.

Very loud from the street as well as the evening parties. Spacious room, but stinky linen (cleaned at all?) and not room care during the stay. Food overpriced. Location rather off from town and beach. Service: unambiguous. Overall a disappointment
