Not up to standard. Some staff members, such as the housekeeping and some of the breakfast and reception staff, were very kind and helpful, but unfortunately there were a number of negatives to this hotel. Inexperienced front desk staff at check in. Standard price for breakfast €25, which is frankly ridiculous, as is the €22 per night for parking, €7,50 for a bottle of water and you even have to pay to “rent an umbrella” for two days. Breakfast staff also hit and miss, one morning was told they only had gluten free rice crackers, not gf bread, despite having ordered gluten free breakfast prior to our stay and having been given gf bread rolls the first two days of our stay. Upon telling the staff member this, she went to check and then returned with the bread. The room was extremely dark, only lit by small lamps, we found it difficult to find clothes to get dressed because it was so dark. It also lacked basic amenities usually standard in a four star hotel, such as shower caps and cotton buds. Breakfast was ok, unfortunately the only coffee available was from a self service machine, again not a four star experience. The pool was ice cold, it was really not possible to stay more than two minutes, not at all relaxing or enjoyable. There were only two loungers by the pool, the rest of the guests had the option to sit on a bench against the wall. Again there was a lack of information from the check in lady to say that we could find towels and dressing gowns at the pool, we didn’t realise that there were dressing gowns available until after we had already dried off and changed back into our clothes. All in all the hotel is overpriced and not up to standard. I find it truly disgusting that there is nowhere nearby to buy water and the hotel charges €7,50 per bottle.
