Oatlands by Jetwing

Malisha was our exclusive butler at Oatlands. He was attentive,discreet and alert to our every need. The food in our private dining room was exquisite. This young man was a credit to his profession, his town and his country. The suit was comfortable and oozed colonial charm.

We had a really delightful time staying at Oatlands. Alan looked after us beautifully. He knew what we wanted before we did! The bungalow is so cosy and welcoming. And after dinner, sitting in the lounge room with a cinnamon fire burning was perfect. The only downside was the rather treacherous walk to the main hotel. Apart from that, we loved it.

The hotel is a bangalow situated atop one of the hills in nuwara eliya. The rooms and property are all great but there is hardly any service. Entire staff is busy with their main hotel which is jet-wings st andrews. No one is there to look after guests here. We had to struggle for basics like ordering food.

We had an amazing experience. Great saty. Rooms are super clean. Food is unbelievably tasty. Chasindu is very friendly, helpful and he is very efficient. Highly recommend this place. Thank you Jetwing group for this experience. Keep up the good work.

The property is located behind the st Andrew’s and if you have a car, it is not easy to reach to the top. Greeted by Jeewantha and Shashmika at check in and was shown to the room directly, Jeewantha even walked me to the St Andrew’s showing me where the breakfast venue was (yes they don’t have an on-site kitchen but you can order in room dining for dinner). Breakfast was great and Shashmika was so kind in walking me there, waited I finished and walked me back. Room is decorated like the old English grandma house styles but everything is in function. It’s just that they sprayed too much air refresher which triggered runny nose all night. Room is equipped with a heater just in case if it’s too cold at night. Also you need to wait for a good 5 minutes before having a hot shower. FYI they only have 4 rooms at the Outland and the st Andrew’s are currently under renovation I gave it a 4/5 was because I’ve had 2 very noisy neighbours- the babies started crying from 6am.. the soundproof was extremely poor

Our experience of this villa proved services was disappointingly below our expectations, especially considering the premium price of our accommodation. Upon arrival, we encountered delays in accessing basic hot water in the bathrooms, despite being informed by staff that it would be available after a short wait this wasn’t the case. Additionally, we noticed unpleasant odors upon entering the premises, coming from both the carpets and bathrooms. Furthermore, we found that the heating systems were not functioning properly. We raised the issues with staff and were offered two rooms at neighboring hotel, St Andrews, however facing an inability to contact the property manager they couldn’t follow through, forcing us in to the position of having to spend time chasing the property manager. As a result, our plans for the day were disrupted, and valuable time was wasted, limiting our activities to dinner and retiring for the evening. I hope the villa can address these issues going forward as other considerations location/food offers could make this an positively memorable experience.
