Towne Lyne Motel

Clean, well set up motel. It was quiet and very comfortable. Well appointed with two queen beds, lots of pillows, a small refrigerator and a microwave and a coffee maker. The room was nicely made up each day. Front desk person was friendly and helpful. Our room was in the back which minimized any traffic noise. Great location - in Ogunquit near the Wells town line. We would definitely go back.

I booked three rooms for two nights when I was in town on business. I tried several times to call the hotel with a few questions and was diverted to someone's cell phone to leave a message -- which was never returned after several messages left over several days. I also sent several emails with the same questions -- and never got a response. So I went into the office when I arrived a day early in hopes of speaking to a live person -- which I did. All squared away, I thought. Then my colleague tested positive for covid and our event got canceled. Again I tried to call, email etc., explaining that we had to unfortunately cancel - no response. So I went in in person again (not having been exposed myself) to make sure they got the message and was told that the owner would make the decision on refund due to covid or perhaps a credit for future stay, which I'd consider because I am in town frequently for business (after this I would NEVER consider staying there). I was told I would hear from the owner soon. Next day I rec'd a bill marked "NO SHOW" charged in full for three rooms/two nights. I only canceled due to circumstances beyond my control and, btw, lost a LOT of money on the canceled event too. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLENTY of other choices in Ogunquit in similar price range and much nicer properties. Go anywhere else.

The room was spotless! The grounds were well kept. Great location. Check in and out were seamless. AC was quite loud, but we were exhausted and slept through it. Beds were comfy. Mini fridge did its job keeping things cold, not just cool. Each room had its own designated parking spot, which I thought was nice.

The rooms are old, run down and dingy. Completely overpriced. Attached porch has two chairs that were ridiculously stained. The room look like it something out of the '70s. However, it was cleaned. And staff was very nice. The pictures were deceiving.

Stayed at "Town Lyne" recently. Found room to be pretty clean. The landscaping outside was no where near what it used to be with a previous owner. When making reservation, I was told the place was full and I got the last room. Not sure why I was told this, but checked in. Was not full or even close. . The fee for room was $189.00 Then there was tax. Before done the charge on credit card was $222.15. Seemed a little high. When I finally got receipt, I saw why. They charged a payment convenience fee of $6.14. Seemed a little high. Was also charged a $10.00 cleaning fee. I checked with other hotels in the area and they are NOT charging a cleaning fee. So bottom line, the hotel charged a bogus fee, @ $10.00. I will not return to this place , just on principle. The room cost was reasonable but the extra fee was nothing more than a money grab.

I have stayed here a few times before this last visit to Maine. A bit older but it is always clean & comfortable. Great location to visit all the area shops & restaurants around Ogunquit & Wells area.

Three weeks ago I had an appointment to be out of town for the weekend. My wife took the opportunity to book a night at the Towne Lyne with a girlfriend for a fun overnight. We have frequented this motel, under different ownerships, over the the last 50 years and always were comfortable and satisfied. As it turned out, I ended up in the hospital, obviously couldn't go on my prearranged trip and my wife had to be with me. She called the Towne Lyne to ask to reschedule her stay, not for a refund. Being that August is their high season there should have been no problem filling our vacancy on a Sunday night. The clerk gave a define no to her request. She asked to speak with the owner and was told that he wasn't on the property and that she should call back. She called back and got the same answer. Then the clerk started ghosting her calls. This tactic is not only a poor business practice but also very childish. Having been a business owner for many years I have learned that the best type of business is a satisfied return customer. This guy obviously hasn't learned that. His referral to even come to the phone is VERY disappointing and has earned this and other poor reviews. Too bad as we used to enjoy this place

The rooms were spotless! They take their housekeeping seriously at this motel. The office team was very friendly, accessible, and helpful. Despite being on Route 1, it is quiet at night. The backyard is very clean, well manicured, and peaceful. Had we stayed for another night, we would have relaxed out on the swing or in the gazebo for breakfast. The screened in back porch was also delightful. Would return on a heartbeat!

I was headed home from a family visit and wanted somewhere safe, clean and close enough to the ocean to catch a swim in the morning before leaving, for a reasonable price. This place delivered it all.
