Pousada dos Quatro Cantos

I enjoyed my stay here immensely. The hotel has a very nice staff, always eager to help and offer the best service possible. I was sick during part of my stay and the staff was concerned and helped me whenever needed. The rooms are amazing, all scattered around the old, historic house, and we ended up getting one just above the restaurant area. The food was great, amenities were thoughtful and the pool was small but sufficient. My biggest downside was the lack of accessibility to the hotel. Even if you don't have mobility issues, you might find it uncomfortable walking around with heavy of large luggage.

The old restored mansion creates a lovely impression as you arrive with the mature garden inside the walls, the welcoming reception area, the breakfast areas inside and out, and interesting art & curios everywhere. Erika had arranged for us to park our rental car in the garage next door for which we were grateful. It is in the artistic neighbourhood with cafes and live music. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. It seems that since the 2019 reviews things are not working as smoothly anymore. We had booked a Deluxe Double room, and confirmed it, but we clearly didn't receive one (room 117). Room 117 is not at all like the rooms in their photos of Deluxe Double rooms. The room felt as though it might have been the servant’s quarters in ages past. Our room was an awkward, narrow, cramped room with a queen bed and a twin bed squeezed in to create a family room. The Balcony was narrow and tiny with half of it an alcove housing the A/C compressor for what seemed to be several rooms. The compressor was exactly 6 feet from my pillow with the sound buffered only by a single sheet of window glass. I know it sounds unbelievable so I will attach a photo of it. The air conditioner was mounted directly above our bed and blew noisy cold air on us. We couldn’t turn it off as it was a hot and humid night and very stuffy in the room. The bed only had a single top sheet with no blanket to help brace us against the cold. Between the noise and the cold we finally gave up on sleep and decided to get an early start on our driving day. We decided to pack before breakfast, and that’s when we found out that the shower only ran cold water at 7 a.m. I have since found the photo of our room on their website and it is billed as a room for 3 people. I was very disappointed as I’d had email exchanges in advance to ensure our room was what I’d booked. After my confirmation of a Deluxe Double room from *********** I received an email from the Pousada saying my “economic room” was reserved. I immediately emailed them to ensure that the room would be Deluxe Double inside the main house as we’d reserved. The response, "they’d made an error, our room would be the Deluxe Double". It was not. That would have been the time to tell me honestly that they couldn’t accommodate us as reserved and I could have easily found something more suitable elsewhere. Our bookings almost never have a problem but I guess you can’t win every time.

Nós nos surpreendemos com essa pousada, pois ela entrega muito! Excelente atendimento da recepção e cozinha! O café da manhã é farto e com muitas opções de comida nordestina. A localização é o grande diferencial, pois fica em um local onde tudo acontece; tivemos o prazer de acompanhar a passagem de alguns blocos carnavalescos em pleno junho. Os quartos são bons e fazem jus ao valor cobrado. A única ressalva que eu faço é em relação ao café da manhã: não tem sanduicheira e a cozinha prepara tudo com manteiga (ovos, omelete, tapioca etc) e para quem não gosta de manteiga ou margarina, como eu, não consegue comer nem um ovo frito. Sugestão: perguntar para o cliente se prefere manteiga ou óleo no preparo dos pratos.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui per due notti con l’idea di rimanere nel centro città. La struttura è molto bella con una grande hall molto bella. La camera piuttosto piccola, piccolo anche il bagno. poco agile il tutto. Molte scale. La colazione invece devo dire era veramente eccezionale con una grande scelta tra il dolce e il salato. Il prezzo un po’ più alto rispetto la media.

Localização recentemente para quem quer curtir bares, restaurantes, previas, carnaval… a Vibe de Olinda. Para quem gosta do estilo colônia é interessante. As meninas são cordiais. Café bom. Não gostei do colchão nem da limpeza (meus pés ficaram pretos quando fiquei descalço no quarto). O quarto não tem acústica nenhuma e o barulho de fora atrapalha. O ar condicionado ou é mau dimensionado para o quarto (janelas tem aberturas) ou estava com defeito. Reclamei, mandaram o funcionário resolver . Quando retornei para dizer que passei a segunda noite no calor devido o ar não funcionar direito e que ele deixou os filtros fora, recebi uma reclamação de volta do funcionário dizendo que o ar estava ok e não tinha problema nenhum! Suficiente para eu nunca mais me hospedar aqui.

Para nós, foi diferente e bom. Tivemos que entender o conceito de “Pousada” e ainda num centro histórico tão importante como Os Quatros Cantos. A equipe toda muito atenciosa conosco, as instalações antigas e simples, porém adequadas. Nosso apto, o 104, o suficiente para nós, com vista maravilhosa para o jardim todo florido e bem cuidado. A Vanessa, gerente, uma simpatia e preocupada com os hóspedes. Sentimos falta de alguns itens no café da manhã, que sugerimos pra ela. O centro estava muito alegre com alguns grupos carnavalescos filmando Clips. Agradecemos a acolhida e gentileza de todos!
