Cambria Hotel Orlando Universal Blvd New Property

Do I think this would be a perfectly acceptable stay for 95% of people? Most likely. But they just kept letting me down. There’s a $60 early check in fee, which I didn’t hear the amount at first and agreed to. When I heard the amount and said no, I was told could come back in an hour or so… then they just agreed to wave it. Awesome, appreciated. Well… turns out the room wasn’t ready… maintanence was working in the room. Ran into an employee outside, he asked my room number, I told him it was okay and I could find my room. I was then very rudely informed he worked there & needed to make sure it wasn’t one he was working in. Okay - I’ll double check with the desk… he then storms past me, jumps in elevator and reports to the front desk. They moved me to another room, GM apologized and was great, room was fine…until I ordered extra food at dinner only to discover the mini fridge is my room wasn’t working. Wasted $50. Again, management was great and offered to replace it immediately- doesn’t help the food that’s already been tossed, I would prefer not to have anyone in my room. It’s unfortunate that it piled on during my trip, but the competition is too high in Orlando for me to give this hotel another try.

The hotel was okay. The room was decent although seemed like it hadnt been cleaned recently, kinda dusty. The AC was really loud. I believe for the price breakfast should have been included. And the snacks they did have were outrageously priced. Also, they have a rooftop bar that had music playing all night long. You could hear it rattling throughout the room. They should mention which rooms are affected by this.

It was okay…for a new hotel the room was prettt run-down. Dings all over the walls, baseboards coming up, toilet seat not secured properly and the room as a whole was not well-maintained. The lobby was nice and so was staff. I was just expecting things to be in better condition.

First off, this property LOOKS great, both on the eebsite & from the outside, but all that changes once you step inside. This place 'on paper' looked so good (new. Great location, price, rooftop pool) that we actually booked 2 stays here. Spoiler Alert: we already canceled our second stay here in May (2 week stay) and booked a different hotel. So in our booking we requested High Floor, away from elevators. We arrived and front desk clerk was very curt, borderline rude. We ended up with floor 2, near evevators. When we questioned this room front desk clerk mumbled something we couldn't understand and just put room keys on counter. We picked up keys, and as we walked to elevator manager approached us and asked 'how's you day going?', and i replied 'not great'... i explained to him what just happened at front desk. He apologized for the ckerk and explained that he could move us to a high floor, but there would be a night club above us (rooftop bar) and it would be playing music until the wee hours of the night. We said ok, and i also infirmed him of our upcoming 2 week stay, and that if this stay wasn't up to standards, we would cancel it. We get to our floor, and the hall way smelled of something odd. There were little boxes on the floor plygged into the wall, not sure what they were, but maybe dehumidifiers??? We get to our room, and it to smelled 'musty'. Not as bad as the hallway, but it smelled all 3 nights. The room was an ADA room, so it didnt hae any counter space

Hotel and room was nice. Unfortunately the pool closes very early, so it's impossible to go if you have activities planned during the day.

This was my second stay at Cambria. I cannot express how much I like this hotel. The design is minimalist and I love it, the bed is extra comfy which I love. I usually don't rest when traveling bc there's no place like home, but honestly, this is the only hotel where I feel so comfortable that I can rest and feel safe. The staff is extra friendly always and I LOVE THE CLEANLINESS of this place!!!

Check in was absolutely a long and big ordeal. Wouldn’t take cash for incidentals. They did the week before but this week they couldn’t so I had to put money back on my card and then come back and give me the room key. I walk outside to grab my bag and then he says hang on. I switched your room so I go up to the room and somebody was already in there and the bathroom smelled like somebody just did number two in it. I asked him to switch my room as soon as I walked up there and smelled that he would not do it so very disappointed in how the check-in went. Mind you I didn’t get there till 10:30 PM so I was very tired and it was just a horrible experience the week before I had no problems and it was great this week. I don’t know what happened but I will not go back there again unless they wanna reimburse me something for the hassle that I went through. And the shower was dirty. The floor had hair clumps all over it. The tables needed wipe down just unbelievable that they sent me to a room that look like somebody had checked in and got moved to another room so when I asked to get moved to another room he wouldn’t do it, unbelievable

Hotel staff was not very friendly at check-in. The hotel itself was clean and had decent amenities, though decor was a bit tacky looking. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Really appreciated the backlit mirrors in the bathroom. Our toilet seat was installed crooked? Weird complaint but it made sitting very uncomfortable. The hallway smelled a little musty and we saw a humidifier in there trying to dry it out. The hotel had a nice rooftop lounge and bar area with live music on the weekend. Only other “complaint” was the price of breakfast… which we knew before booking so not a huge deal. Also appreciated the free parking! Though it was limited.

The whole facility was fabulous. If there is anything I wish they had was a shelf in the shower to put my own soap, shampoo on.
