I recently had the displeasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites located at Ottawa Airport from the 6th to the 9th of October 2023. I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the quality of service we received during our stay. I had booked three rooms for a three-night stay. On the night of the 9th of October At approximately 10:30 pm, the fire alarm in one of our rooms (the middle room) started ringing loudly and it became evident that this was not a real fire situation,rather a malfunctioning alarm system or faulty batteries. We immediately contacted the reception to request assistance. To our dismay, the reception informed us that they only had two rooms available and were unable to resolve the issue promptly. Eventually, they relocated the guest from the middle room to one of the available rooms, but this did nothing to alleviate the situation for the guests in the two adjacent rooms. The fire alarm continued to ring incessantly throughout the night, making it impossible for anyone in those rooms to get any sleep. The following morning, we expressed our concerns to the manager on duty, who claimed that no one from the adjacent rooms had complained about the issue. This was completely untrue, as we had indeed raised our concerns with the manager during the night. The lack of action and accountability on the part of the hotel staff left us deeply unsatisfied and disrupted.
