The Clydesdale

Just returned from 2 nights here. Absolutely exceptional stay! Diane & Tommy are amazing hosts, so friendly, kind, helpful and funny. After only a brief time, we felt like part of the family. We can’t thank you enough. Fabulous comfy bed and delicious breakfasts! They truly go out of their way for you.

Spent five nights at the Clydesdale. We have been several times in the past and it met all our expectations. As usual Diane and Tommy were there to greet us. We had a parking spot outside the property and had 2 rooms. Room 4 - Deluxe double room and room 6 - twin. The rooms have internet and good TV reception. The rooms are beautifully furnished and everything is spotlessly clean. You order breakfast on a sheet for the next day. The food is fresh and cooked to order. There are cereals too and bowls of fruit. Both our host have a great knowledge of Paignton and the local area and are always ready to assist you. We cannot fault The Cyldesdale at all and would recommend to anyone.

Diane & Tommy the most friendliest, welcoming hosts you could wish to meet, nothing is too much trouble, they think of everything you might possibly need, the snack station is brilliant, location ideal , this is year 4 now for us, can’t fault it, breakfast is amazing as well

Really enjoyed our stay with Diane and Tommy. Our room was brilliant, very very clean and the breakfasts were also very good. Both Diane and Tommy are very knowledgeable about the local area and we parked the car up for the week and used the local buses for touring round Devon after Diane's advice. The bus services are first class. Regular and on time. Tommy seemed to know the location of all the Wetherspoon's in Devon. They were brilliant host's and the highlight of the day was always breakfast - get down early because the cabaret starts first thing. Would highly recommend and revisit. Come on England

From the moment we arrived, Diane and Tommy couldn't do enough for us. We had a friendly, welcoming chat with a nice cuppa and some lovely home made cake. They both take great pride in the service they offer and are always on hand to offer advice about the area. The room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. We have stayed in many guest houses before but The Clydesdale beats them all. The whole place is spotless. Breakfast time is a pleasure with Diane's superb cooking skills and Tommy's magic tricks and hilarious stories. We had a great laugh. The guest house is a short stroll through the park to the beach and town. There is on site parking too. If you're looking for an enjoyable stay in Paignton in a great location with outstanding hosts then look no further. Thanks to Diane and Tommy (and Boo Boo the cat lol) for making our stay so pleasant. We'll definitely be back. Highly Recommended. Steve and Marie-Claire from Cardiff.

This was my first time going anywhere as a solo traveller and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to start my journey. I had the most warm welcome from Diane with a much needed cuppa and a slice of her fantastic homemade cake. My room was spotlessly clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and came with a side of magic tricks from Tommy! They are the most kind, friendly and genuine couple I have met. Thank you both for such a wonderful stay. I will be back!

What can I say? There are not enough superlatives I can use to describe our stay at the Clydesdale. On arrival, we were able park on site and my dad and I were greeted at the door by Diannes friendly face, lovely brew and homemade cake! We were helped to our rooms which were very comfortable indeed. We stayed for 5 nights, I had room 5 which was a single room with everything you could possibly need for your stay with plenty of storage. Even had a little fridge and a fan, rooms were spotless. Dad stayed in a double room 1, equally wonderful with a big bay window. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept like babies. Dianne and Tommy are by far the perfect hosts, very knowledgeable about the area and the breakfast choice and quality was impressive, (really enjoyed the fruit pots, Dianne even made one especially for me, having noticed I didn’t like banana. Dianne is a fabulous cook. The whole B & B was impeccably clean and very homely, the guest lounge was very cosy and perfect for relaxing after a long day. They both went over and above to make our stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble and was always on hand to help us with anything. Tommy ( Manuel as we like to call him)was equally accommodating, we especially enjoyed the costume changes and magic tricks at breakfast, we had lots of giggles which made for a very memorial stay. Location was great, quiet and less than a 10 minute walk to the shops and beach front, with a very lovely park at the end of the road. Local transport links are great, cheap, run regularly and very clean for those not wanting to drive anywhere it’s ideal to get about. Its no wonder why the Clydesdale has been nominated for “friendliest B & B” more than once, you’d go a long way to find better, quality and customer service was exemplary! I can’t recommend this place enough, a real home from home. This was our first stay after being let down by another local B & B. It must have been fate as we now wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when visiting Paignton. By a country mile this is the best B & B I have stayed in and at a very reasonable rate. In our opinion 10/10 just doesn’t do it justice. We feel like we’ve made some new friends in Dianne and Tommy and will definitely be back for more of the same before the season closes. Well done you pair. A visit to the Clydesdale VERY highly recommended!! PS. I’m going to miss Boo Boo, he was the icing on the cake! hope he’s not got too fat from all the treats I gave him.

We have just returned after a weeks break at the Clydesdale Guest House we stayed from the 3rd - 10th of September and have to say what an amazing place. The owners Diane & Tommy are without doubt the most friendly, helpful, couple. The Breakfast was excellent the rooms are very comfortable, spotlessly clean, which we both feel is a reflection of the enormous effort they put in to make your stay a special one they work so hard. If you need any information regarding the area re places of interest, walks , bus services, places to eat, they will supply it they have a very good knowledge of the area. The Clydesdale is perfectly positioned for the beach or the town being only 10 minutes walk to either. When you stay here it is just like a home from home. We have been to many places over the years but this one is in our opinion the place to be in Paignton. We have to REALLY ENJOY are stay anywhere to go back again. Well believe me this certainly speaks for itself we have over the years gone from ONCE a year to THREE times a year to Diane & Tommy at the Clydesdale and can TOTALLY & HONESTLY say we have enjoyed EVERY MINUTE and will continue to for as long as we can. If you are thinking of going to Paignton ( do yourselves a favour ) JUST TRY IT you WONT regret it. To stay at the Clydesdale Guest House with Diane & Tommy in our opinion is SO SPECIAL & SIMPLY THE BEST.

Stayed here last week, myself and my wife had an amazing time. Diane and Tommy was very helpful and very welcoming. If we need anything they would help if they could. Really nice room and breakfast, I would definitely be staying here again.
