Allegra House

Heinz and Brita were the perfect hosts. They were helpful ,friendly and had a great sense of humour. The room was spacious and clean and had the most amazing view. The breakfast was plentiful with eggs cooked with freshly baked bread, fruit ,yoghurt and cheeses. We could not have found a better place to stay

What a place. We stayed in a beautiful apar**ent but it’s the view over the bay of islands from your deck that knocks you out. It really is to die for and I doubt we’ll better it during our next month on NZ. Brita and Heinz are charming and thoughtful hosts. It’s hardly ever available for obvious reasons but if you do get the chance to stay then don’t hesitate.

A wonderfully situated apar**ent/ accommodation nestled above the town looking out I’m to the sea. Great hosts and a well equipped apar**ent would certainly recommend this property. A short walk takes you into the small town of Paihia which gives you a great opportunity to explore the Bay of Islands.

Wow!! What an amazing place to stay. The room was fantastic, the vistas were wonderful from the balcony of the room, but most of all the hosts were excellent, their knowledge of the area is brilliant and the breakfast was sublime. An excellent place to unwind.

Everything was done perfectly at Allegra House. The room had every convenience with a stunning view of the bay from our private deck. We stayed in a B and B suite that was private, quiet and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The hosts did a superb job of providing all the extra touches that make a place really special like enough towel bars (don't you hate that so many places have nowhere to hang your towels?), places to put 2 suitcases, places to put your toiletries, etc. These are all pet peeves of mine with so many hotels. So basic, but so often forgotten. They forgot nothing and there were so many niceties that went above and beyond. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, breakfast was wonderful. They also accommodated our need to add 2 extra nights to the stay due to a virus that had one of us laid up for several days. We were so fortunate to be here during the worst of it. We only wish we had not been dealing with a health issue so we could have fully appreciated Allegra House and the surrounding area. If we go back to New Zealand, it will definitely be at the top of the list for places to stay again. Of all the lovely places we stayed in 4 weeks, it was by far the best.

Beautiful accommodation with spectacular views. A delicious and substantial breakfast served on the deck with views to die for. Heinz and Brita are excellent hosts and have a lot of useful advice to make your stay memorable. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A fantastic stay in a gorgeous B&B with the most stunning bay views & welcoming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, including Heinz driving us to Haruru Falls so that we could enjoy the wonderful walk back to Paihia via Waitangi, and great restaurant recommendations. Delicious breakfasts served on the balcony & perfectly appointed and spacious accomodation - can’t recommend highly enough & would return in a heartbeat.

This was the first place we stayed on our tour of New Zealand and what a start! We were very well looked after, with great accommodation overlooking the Bay of Islands. Superb breakfasts and very good knowledge of the area providing suggestions of what to do during our stay. Highly reccommend a stay here if you are in the area.

Our second visit and for a number of reasons. Heinz is a host with years of experience in tourism who goes above and beyond the norm to ensure his guests enjoy their stay. Stunning views across the water to Russell Bay are visible from all rooms.
