The motel is in a good location. But the hotel is quite run down and very tired. The unit we had was relatively clean. The swimming pool looked a bit like a scene from a horror movie... In summary, It wasn't a bad experience to stay there, and it was quite good value for money.

Location was good, service was good too. Only suggestion i have is to renovate bathroom and kitchen, they are too old and kind of started falling apart. Rest of everything was good 😀

Room was dirty and dusty Kitchen was unclean and the oven was dirty so never used it Bathrooms were dirty and floors unclean We only stayed because we had booked and paid for the room in advance Please don’t stay here all the advertising pictures are incorrect - everything is now overgrown and lawns are long. Pool was dirty Grandchildren wanted to use the spa pool- but the answer was NO Alway read the reviews don’t go by the star ratings. We had stayed here in the past and had a great time with no issues but obviously has changed hands.

Very dated Photos are not what is expected , they were taken maybe 10 years ago .. leaking water under bathroom sink ,toilet would not flush properly , extractor fan in bathroom not working , support under bed was broken .futon couch was dangerous and broken ..

AVOID THIS MOTEL. Nothing like the photos would believe it to be. Very run down and needs a lot of repairs. The pool was dirty and not useable, this is not even up to back packers standards. We were very disappointed in the cleaniness and three broken fans were only cooling. I cannot understand how it still has a high rating

The images are a little misleading. For the price, you expect it to be basic, but not uncomfortable or unclean, but that's just what it was. We uncovered a number of issues during our stay: the only heating provided was an ancient oil heater, which, in NZ winter, meant an absolutely baltic room. The bathroom was like the 3rd world: broken light, broken extractor fan, mildew-covered toilet seat. Bedding was damp due to high moisture levels, and this meant that when we left the heater on so that the unit would be warmer upon our return later in the day, the whole room smelled of damp. Also, put in that it was an adult and two teenagers staying, and they decided to put the two teens in a single bed. A frayed and dangerous cable provided on another heater which we requested. Sofa was broken, however this issue was fixed by the attendant, who was incredibly kind and helpful. It seems the establishment may be undergoing some work in the not too distant future, but until then, I'd give it a miss. Plenty of better options elsewhere in Paihia or even in Russell across the bay.

The place is disgusting - dried blood on sheets - stains on couches and carpets - do not stay here The glass coffee table is a hazard with the glass not attached to the base. There are cheap & cheerful then there is Aloha resort - cheap & revolting

VERY RUN DOWN AND LITTLE OR NO REPAIRS DONE. The range only had one ring working, Aircon was three broken fans, bathroom exractor fan not working, window catches broken, fridge freezer not working so frozen icecream melted. Pool not fit for use with green slime, safety fence unsafe with lots of missing brakets. NOT up to healthy home standards and would not even pass as a backpackers. Promotional photos VERY VERY misleading
