This small hotel is beautifully set, the rooms are large, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was great, as were the cocktails! When there was a problem with the hot water, the manager was determined to fix it. At times it was difficult to find staff, for example in the sundowner lounge and main reception, but that was not a major issue. We were so lucky to have Shakti, who is also one of the two managers, as our guide. He was so knowledgeable about local culture and wildlife. Shakti had developed lovely relationships with the local Bishnoi and Brahmin communities and we felt very privileged to be invited into their homes. There were no other tourists and it did not feel like the local people were being exploited. Shakti knew where to find the animals and we got very close to antelopes, with no other jeeps or tourists in sight. He is passionate about protecting the animals and the environment. We heard that he fought off some wild dogs that were attacking antelope earlier that morning. We learnt so much, and he was definitely the best guide we had on our trip.
