Travel Dates 23rd May 2025 to 25th May 2025 Weather : Hot and Humid Occasional Rains in the night and that occasional windy moment It Is located on the Wai-Mahabaleshwar road. This road is a busy road and weekends are prone to congestions. Booking was done online after due negotiations [There weren’t any]. A rack rate published discount of 20% was given and I was grateful for that. Booking was done for a Valley Room [Kind of a mid-tier room] and included Breakfast and Dinner as a package The coordination was done by Ms P and she promised a surprise cake for my son’s birthday. Property: The Grand Victoria is an awesome property and you will not be disappointed with the sprawling garden area and the ample parking place. There is a well maintained indoor games room with games like Chess, Table Tennis, etc. The gymnasium is well equipped and we had a good time over there with the exercise bike, treadmill, etc. It is good air-conditioned place The swimming pool is well maintained round the clock since it’s quite windy. The pool has a shallow end and a not-so-deep area at the other end. The restaurant is a good place but can get congested at times. There is also a proper bow and arrow , or the more glamourous archery set in the garden. Our room which is marketed as a Valley View Room is marketed wrongly as a “Valley” view room,; it should be called , The “swimming pool” view room; as the swimming pool is bang opposite this room. No privacy , no views , simply noisy. The interiors of the room are good and the washroom had yellow water in the obvious place when we checked in. The room is spacious and enough for 3 people with a sofa to lounge. The room has a balcony with a view of the swimming pool and you cannot sit with a cup of coffee , without being noticed from down below. You cannot change in your own room , if you do not draw the curtains since anyone from down below can see you. People We were made to wait for our room. No welcome drink provided for the guests , even though there was humidity and heat all round. The people at the reception do not care whether you are standing over there or you are passing by. They go through their chores without any passion , without any smiles. Payment for both the dates was compulsorily taken from us on the date of check-in. No negotiations , no concern, no care…simply pay up. There was concern shown during checkout , only to be told that they required a review The same cannot be said about the people who do the cleaning and the personnel at the restaurant who serve you. The managers who wear those suits are elevated in their snobbishness due to their attire and give two hoots to your presence. Breakfast 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. [ Earlier you go, the better for you] The food is awesome. The spread is great. In non-vegetarian you have boiled eggs and chicken sausages and that on demand omelette. Vegetarian food had poha, upma, mashed potatos, puri bhaji, dosa, idli, etc The sambhar was bland and sweet
